Latin use in BY, a Mati story
Every time I go with my husband when he picks up Mati, BH, kah, I hear new compliments.
Last time, the school secretary, whose office is near the two first cheder classes, asked me to come in because she wanted to know something.
"Your daughter is adorable", she says, "she always comes to talk to me in my office". My mom btw says I did that kind of stuff too, because I was bh so advanced in speech that it wasn't fun to discuss with kids. Mati is the same kah.
"But last time, she told me about her pets. You have rats and guinea pigs, right? I saw it on FB". While silently laughing at the fact that this older BY lady is on FB (which is true), I said yes. "Well, when I mentioned her guinea pigs, she said no, they are cavias! what is that??".
OMG. LOOOOOOOOL. I had to tell her that "cavia" was the Latin, scientific name of the guinea pig, and that Mati happened to love and only use that name. She was floored that a 3 year old would be using Latin. I didn't tell her I remember doing the same kind of stuff, because we're probably weird enough as is ;)
