New rules at Mati's school
When Mati started, in beginning of 2010, the rule about skirts/dresses was "strongly encouraged after 4", though in practice there was virtually no girl in pants at that age.
Now, they wanted to implement it at 3. But parents started asking, after the 3 birthday or in gan alef? So they said, now, everyone in skirt, including in ganon where the youngest are 18 months!
Tights will be mandatory in gan bet (4 or so). You can switch to knee socks when the girl stops jumping and climbing around.
Sleeves at the elbow will be mandatory in first grade (6 or so).
The weirdest rule is that they won't accept a kid with nits, even dead ones! So Mati is out... doesn't matter since they are now just going over stuff learned last year (brachos) and only starting really serious business after Sukkos. We'll try to send her again tomorrow, IYH there is nothing left now.
