I went to a day of shiurim in Paris, recommended by an amother (who didn't show up). It was very nice, I met cool ladies and I have already ordered the cd.
There was the cutest little boy there, who was sooooo in love with me. He kept kissing me, sitting on me, sleeping on me (!). Adorable.
Finally Mati went there (they had a gan service) instead of Gan Israel because we were late, and guess what. Despite the lack of means compared to a 35 yr old Gan Israel (there were around 20 kids with 6 or 8 young "morot", some of them obviously way under bat mitsva), she LOVED it and she wants to go THERE and "not the Gan Israel". Surprise surprise.
Except no. This shul is affiliated with the same kehila as her school. So yeah, the people, attitudes, etc, are close. Even I felt it.
I've had it with the Gan Israel of this city. We are IYH visiting one or two others tomorrow. My parents say even if they don't give back the money, it will be a nice tzedaka.
