Sixth day in Israel

We went to Mea Shearim (where Mati wants to settle because there are many « frum » and she likes little boys in « tights » and long payes) for shopping, and for the first time in years my husband actually found not one but two hats he liked ! He is very picky hat wise, not wanting one looking old, or Chabad, or this, or that, and must be Borsalino, and whatever. He ended up finding a nice yeshivish hat and a Alsatian/Swiss/North Italy  Yekke type summer hat.

His favorite kippa places closed down so he didn’t buy any. We found nice tights for me and Mati (no « over the knee high » though), and I bought my dream snoods ! What else… a cute « kleine tzadekes » bib for Mati, a gorgeous wood stuff for our door with our surnames, books about learning Yiddish for Mati as well as books I didn’t find in French (rebbetzin Jungreiss).

There was an anti Zionist demonstration in Mea Shearim, and only like ten guys following it BH.

Then I went to the malcha Imamother meet where only Mimivan came up, a feat with three kids ! It was so nice to see her again. I took adorable pics and Mati had  lot of fun ! I also got a nice cheap manicure there, great idea this Laka have !

In the mean time husband was trying to call his old time chavrusa (the guy who married his first shidduch because she was ready to work - « looks don’t matter » guy if you remember that post) and the wife answered, bitter and disagreeable and annoyed some other weird guy was trying to call her husband. He left his number and the wife hinted his husband wouldn’t be interested. Lo and behold he called as soon as he got home and they stayed on phone like one hour. The guy is in full time kolel in Mir, his makes his wife work like a slave and pickup the kids. He couldn’t believe someone in a good level kollel would pick up the kids and was very impressed at my husband.

He was at the copycat wedding and said it was laughable, by the way.

He didn’t remember his own wedding date, didn’t even remember if it was before or after us, and husband heard him talking badly to his wife so she would leave the room. Oh and he said i should go to work so husband would be in kollel longer, and he should go at night too. Yeah, right. Only good point : I’m not jealous of the wife (for having like a kid a year) anymore.
