Seems like my baby cousin (ok, she's 19) renounced to that crazy IDF idea... BH. But I don't know if she's staying in America or back to Israel. I used to be terrorized of her mom because she was dressed as a soldier with short short hair!! Funnily her older sis was a conscientious objector... I was so mad when I heard of that, but when I heard baby cousin was going to the army, OYYYYY was I hysterical!
Weirdly when my older cousin was at the army I didn't mind... I also don't mind other armies so much, maybe because today most armies aren't really "for real". In fact it's kinda a tradition in my family... my father was a Resistant and in the French army, he did the Algeria war... his own father was also a Resistant working with Jean Moulin... his grandfather was one of the few Jewish Cossacks, and a personal guard of the Czarina... on my mom's side, my grandfather had a great uncle in the Austria-Hungarian army and my great uncle did the Independance war... my husband's grandfather was a commander of a boat in the Italian army, and his cousin commanded a submarine for the Italian (fascist) army (weird how many Italian Yidden were fascist!). Once upon a time I considered the army too, either in the planes (but with less than stellar vision, forget about it) or in the medics. But in the end I decided I was too lazy ;)

We'll see what will happen...
