Stuff and NonStuff II

Catch up time.

Christmas and Hanukkah were wonderful - quiet and nice. Fed cats, took walks, ate too much, cuddled with my honey bear.

Got lots of cool stuff. The boy bought me Shakespeare in Love which I had never seen due to my aversion from all things Fishstick but I must say it was a damn good movie. This is the second movie he insisted I watch that I really fell in love with - the first was Bridget Jones Diary. I'm stubborn but I eventually come around. He also got me a Troma Films movie called Shakespeare In and Out which was really, really bad. Not even funny bad. It's supposed to be a sort of Waiting for Guffman in the porn industry - but it missed it's mark by a long, long way. It was still fun watching it though.

He also got me a gift certificate to the happiest place in the world, aka The Container Store and his sister got me one as well! Perfect timing - I gave him a bunch of men's skincare products from Sephora and promised to clean out all the crap in the bathroom. I got rid of two garbage bags full of stuff I don't use and wanted to replace one of my old storage units with something more open. I got this rolling bin and one of these for my blow dryer, curling iron, flat iron, and brushes, and these boxes for smaller things.

I also got a DVD holder and a leather box to keep our wedding keepsakes in.

I also got over to Bed and Bath to use a wedding present gift certificate and bought a nice mixing bowl, cookie cooling rack, and an extra pillow for the boy.

Yeah this anal retentive had a good weekend!

We also made a big decision. You know how I've been talking about getting out of NY? Well in a year we plan to be residents of Western Michigan! We figured we can afford to buy a house somewhere between Grand Rapids and Grand Haven (where the boy grew up) and I can get a job in Grand Rapids. My sister-in-law is already on the job of looking for a job for me and helping us find a house! I'm pretty excited. I mean NYC will always be my home and I'll miss my friends and parents a hella lot, but it's time for a change and since neither one of us take advantage of the city and all it has to offer and we both really need a change of pace and some fresh air - well it's just time.

We decided to take a year for various and sundry reasons but I know this is really, really doable and I'm really excited about it!

Can you tell?
