Hot Chocolate or Apple Cider?:
neither, actually. my mom always made hot chocolate with water- no marshmellows- so it just reminds me of burnt tongues. and warm apple cider was her favorite (only) scratchy-morning-throat remedy. so it reminds me of being sick. blech.
Turkey or Ham?:

Do you get a fake or real tree?:
we got a real one until i was about 7, then we started going to the carribean for christmas break, and i havent had a tree since.
Decorations on the outside of the house?: only the white lights that my dad has up in my window year-round
Snowball fights or sledding?: cold = no. although i guess i'd prefer sledding. if somebody else will haul me back up the hill.
Do you like hanging around the fireplace because it's warm?: our fireplace is gas and smells bad.
Do you enjoy going downtown shopping?:
hmm, lets think about downtown rising sun, shall we? although the mall can be fun. and this weekend i'm hitting up georgetown for presents.
Favorite Christmas song?:
hmm... little drummer boy, maybe, because i can still play it decently on piano. or maybe silent night. or carol of the bells. ok, i do like christmas music.
How do you feel about Christmas movies?:
i dont know that i've ever really seen one.
When is it too early to start listening to Christmas music?:
being involuntarily subjected to christmas music (i.e. in the mall, in a cab, etc) is never ok. personally, i dont give a damn if you listen to carols year round. i'll start on about 12/23.
Stockings before or after presents?:
well, i havent had a tree since 1992, so you do the math.
Carolers, do you or do you not watch and listen?:
i dont think i've ever seen live carolers.
Go to someone else's house or they come to you?:
neither. my family doesntlike anybody else.

my mom used to read 'the night before christmas' to me on the appropriate date, until i got embarassed at about age 5 and asked her to stop.
What do you do after presents and dinner?:
well, since neither really happen... umm... go back to sleep? sit and watch lame TV?
What is your favorite holiday smell?:
i do like the smell of pine. and cookies in general.
Ice skating or walking around the mall?:
my dad wont let me go to the mall around christmas, he's afraid i'll get trampled. just kidding. kind of. but i'm not a particularly successful ice skater, so it would probably be the latter.
Favorite Christmas memory?:
being WARM in bonaire. oooorrrr that time we had christmas dinner at a gas station somewhere near bumfuck, nevada. that was fun. year-old lunchables are quality.
Favorite part about winter?: the part where it turns into spring.

the santa that dances. it gives me a legitimate excuse to be grumpy.

the whole non-tradition part. not that i really have a choice. although we usually buy a toy for fergus, my dog, and thats kinda fun. its more just out of annual necessity though, not because it falls on christmas.
