The first few days, he showed no notices of her as she moved about the castle cleaning and dusting there; he didn’t even show anything when she apologized for breaking me.
The first time he showed any real noticed of her was when she was fighting with the curtains that hung over the windows in the great hall.
“Why do you spin so much?” she had asked.
“To forget,” he answered not looking up from his spinning wheel.
“Forget what?”
“I can’t remember, I guess it work,” he had said looking up to her.
Her laughter rung out in the hall, as she shook her head and went back to fighting with the curtains. If she had only kept looking at him, she would have seen what I saw from my spot on the stand beside him.
A smile.
