Yay!!
I'm so happy, I got my daughter's crib yesterday and it was set up before the day was over by my awesome boyfriend. He did a wonderful job and all by himself without directions lol.
To my surprise my older sister Leslie hand made a blanket for Meikah and sent it to me and I recieved it in the mail this morning, I love it, its very very soft and pretty. It says "I <3 Mommy" and "I <3 Daddy" in pastel pink, purple, green, blue and yellow.
Also, my friend Lumi, the reason we bought the crib, we were just going to get one from her but her mom couldn't get it very quickly so my mother became a TAD panicked and was like "Well, we're just going to go buy a crib, better to be safe than sorry later" and of course the next day after buying it and setting it up...Lumi calls, basically our converstion.
LUMI: "I heard you got a crib..."
ME: "Yup, its awesome."
LUMI: "My mother is laughing hysterically because she finally is able to go get your crib today"
ME: "Oh...crap, I'm sorry..."
LUMI: "We're not mad, its just ironic that you went a bought a crib and NOW we can get the crib for you, its funny how these things work sometimes..."
ME: "Yeah...umm I'm still really sorry!"
LUMI: "Well, we're still buying you that breast pump and do you need anything else?? A swing? bedding? clothes? Toys?"
ME: "I never say no to free baby stuff, *laughs*, you know that."
So yeah, now we have a crib and we have some clothes. I feel like we're getting somewhere, I can see that Andrew has calmed down quite a bit now. He's definitely more relieved.
My schedule this month and part of next month is rather busy with baby stuffs.
March 16th- Happy birthday Joanna(Thought I'd throw that in there, lol) Heading to the park to scope out the baby shower area and get the permit for it since you have to have a permit to host a gathering of more than 25 people there. Then off to motherhood maternity to buy me some stuff, and then Alin's Party Supply to buy the decorations and stuff for the baby shower.
March 17th- Andrew's dad's band's gig at The Gaslamp here in Long Beach, should be fun...St. Patty's day...no booze BOO!!
March 27th-Busy cooking all the lemon bars, brownies, making the pasta salads, potato salads, baked beans, sandwiches, and putting together the goodie bags
March 28th-Baby shower #1
March 30th-Going to CalWORKS to get set up, hopefully.
April 1st-Maternity tour at Memorial and buying the crib mattress for sure and possibly either the stroller/carseat or the bedding for the crib
May 1st- Buying the stroller/carseat for sure if we haven't already, if we have we'll buy the crib bedding
June 1st- if we haven't bought the crib bedding, buying the crib bedding or a moby wrap
Mid-June-Baby shower #2 being thrown by my boyfriend's mother and father
June 27th-hopefully she'll be born around this time since it is her EDD
June 29th-buying the moby wrap for sure....if we haven't already
July 4th-planning some hoopla of some sort with friends/family/Meikah <3
July 26th-Big brother Casey's b-day
August 19th-Andrew and my 1st year anniversary. ^_^ Time goes by fast. <33
And somewhere this time frame we'll also be buying
2 rolling cart organizing drawers thingies....

and a few other nick nacks...I really want these three baby blankets I saw, one is white and has pretty details on it and it feels like that sheep fur/skin material, the other two are of COURSE Winnie the Pooh, one is burgundy and says "Baby's 1st Christmas" with Pooh and Tigger, and the other is just a very soft fleece blanket with the characters on it. Very soft.
Oh and possibly this cute Winnie the Pooh crib toy organizer that hangs on the outside of the crib. ^_^
I may not have much room but it'll look darling. Gotta make due with what we have until we have even better!
