The reason why BBQ food has always been my favourite, followed by sushi of course ^^
For convenience, you can roast them in the oven (i always do), turning and basting regularly with honey or butter. These are simple to make. Grab some slices of bacon, enoki mushrooms and some stalks of spring onion. Make sure they're packed tightly in a roll. Toothpicks are optional for securing the bacon wraps. If you like spicy, add mustard in the glaze. You'd be surprised at how crunchy they actually are.
I would love to substitute the mushrooms with chunks of chicken breast and pineapple for a Hawaiian twist. Maybe another time; but you guys should try it too and let me know lol.
BTW, i used a long Japanese plate for the presentation and it's the perfect size. You guys know what i mean, the ceramic kinds that are rectangular, yet ornate. Very dainty. You can find those in Japanese restaurants where they place bite-sized fried stuff.
It's true when I say the best things about cooking is not just the creative thought process that goes on behind the slicing and frying, but the people whom you cook for, raving about it. I cannot think of anything else that pleases me more than an additional helping that you take. John loooves these like nothing else. Without fail, he always requests for more 'bacon-mushroom thingys bb!'
another time bibi. i make you wrap 'em up!
