Fantastic Weekend of Happiness
This weekend turned out to be fantastic! You may remember that Charmane's friend was coming to visit us for the weekend. We spent the day cleaning the house from top to bottom after work. By 9pm I was exhausted, and her friend D was still about an hour outside of Hartford, so I took a little nap. I guess it wasn't so little, because by the time I woke up, D had been here for an hour or more and was busy with a bottle of E&J, while Charmane was just as deep into a bottle of wine. They were chatting and laughing, so I finally came out and joined in. She was really nice. Very down to Earth and so funny. A very nice first meeting.
Saturday we woke up and had a light breakfast and discussed our plans for the day. D does Mary Kay, so we through a brunch for her so she could practice her skills for giving a presentation. The problem was that we had started drinking by 11am, people wandered in all afternoon not paying attention to the 1pm start time and the end result was a chaotic presentation. Charmane and her friends kept interrupting as D was trying to speak, and I was like the nerd in the class eagerly paying attention to the teacher, even while the cool kids were goofing around. At one point, Charmane's friend M said, "Hey Tianna, were you bullied in elementary school?" I said, "Yeah, sometimes." She responded, "Well, I'm not saying it was deserved, but I can see why." lol I was so the dork in the class trying to maintain order.
After the Mary Kay was done and she made her sales, D got a chance to relax with the rest of the group and have some drinks herself. We were supposed to be going to the drag bar that evening, but we all ended up having such a good time chatting and stuff, none of us felt the need to go out.
Sunday morning we went to a diner not too far from our house and got some delicious hangover breakfast. Tons of carbs and coffee...my favorites. Not long after, D hopped back on the road home, but not before telling us what a good time she had. We're going to try to come out closer to her next time. I'd like to go to DC at some point this summer, so she said to let her know so she can visit her mom who lives in the area. Very fun weekend. Sucks to be back at work today.
