I've been writing more, which is good. I came up with an idea that will hopefully be a series of books that could possibly put my name on the map. obviously that's a streeeeeeeeetch, but who knows? I don't want to say what it is so much, because you know how I am, but I ran the idea by Courtney and Charmane and they both think it's a great idea. I'm working on finding grants to support that endeavor.
One short story is about finished, I have an idea for another one, more of a sci-fi type of deal. I don't think it really fits in with the tone of my New Year's Eve story, which is more funny and reads quicker. I doubt I'll put them in the same book. I've never written sci-fi before and I got a great idea. I'm going to see what I can do with it. I'm really not familiar enough with the genre to do it justice though. I don't have high hopes for that one. I also have an idea for a nerd turned playboy who is still secretly a nerd.
I haven't finished a book since Twilight, and that was just sad to me. I hate letting people know that the last book I read in its entirety was about sparkly vampires. So I started reading a book my cousin Rashad got me for Christmas. It's called "Them" by Nathan McCall. Parts of it get me a little angry. It's about gentrification and some of these characters jump off the page a little too well. I dunno, I find it hard to read because I know people who are where all of these characters are.
But such is life. Charmane is sick with the flu so I was taking care of her most of the weekend. I missed the parade because I had no one to go with. The person I was supposed to go with overslept. Then some of my high school friends met up at a bar, but I'd spent my weekend allowance on dinner with Courtney and her bf. I'm really holding myself to that allowance nowadays. That laptop's not gonna buy itself. And it doesn't seem like my dad is in any rush to fix my desktop lol.
