I'm thinking of a master plan...

since finding paperbookswap.com, I could best be described as a book junkie. I acquire books, think about how I'll read them as quickly as possible then put them up on the swap. A couple of times, coworkers have given me books that they don't want anymore. Even though I know I don't want to read them, I take them just to put them up on the swap. The worst time was when I went to my parents house, saw 3 books that were just sitting around and snuck them in my bag, eagerly awaiting to post them and see how quick they'd go and I could get more points. I ended up putting them back before I left though. It was the nerdy equivalent of stealing your mom's tv for crack.

Anyway, I finished "The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao" last night (it was a library book so I couldn't post it for crack more books...though I considered it. there's already more than 200 people wish listing it.) and it was a pretty good read. I started "The Other Boleyn Girl" right after. I read the first chapter and already it intrigues me.

I start NaNoWriMo this Saturday. I'm pretty excited to tell you the truth. I haven't written in such a long time. So I'm thinking that the time I normally spend on blogging, I'm going to push out that thing instead. The plan is to have a jumping off point with this, then tweak my work after November. Then maybe I'll have something I'm proud enough to REALLY work with and try to get published. That's the hope, anyway.

I'm really excited to start writing again. I think I've just been amping myself up about it. Trying to write the great American novel that doesn't read like everything else ever written. Especially in the lesbian novel genre.

But then, that's another fear. That I'll publish a book and it will be great, but it'll be banished to the "Gay and Lesbian" section of Barnes and Noble, or the "African-American" section next to Zane. My book won't be listed as "literature", but a special interest. It won't have it's own little book stand when you walk in the store, it'll be tucked somewhere in the back next to all the gay boy book series.

Blah...
