I threw in the towel at a quarter past ten o’clock on the early end of Monday. Lo, how (I imagined that) the neighbourhood shook from the impact of the towel’s landing. Cats in the severals meowed critically. People who were “just resting their eyes” looked around for full moments before getting back to it.
October will be just fine for handing in a thesis. Surely in September, it is best to go back to school, even, perhaps especially, on a strictly nominal basis. The project of the semester to come is to take more than I give. I will insist on gainful employment. I will see the dentist, the podiatrist, the nutritionist, and the chaplain. I will photocopy my face. I will sign out video projectors to watch downloaded television on my bedroom wall. I will monitor the lost and found box for new gloves. I will find quarters under my chair. I will do all of this without interrupting my plan to do one hundred new things come fall, which isn’t altogether stupid. I did a lot of new things last fall. I'm not too bad at them. Falls.
