Personal Opinion here: Whichever Disney exec decided how Bridge to Tarabithia was going to be marketed deserves to be drug out into the street and shot. Repeatedly. I have seldom seen such an example of bait-and-switch misdirection. The movie was good, really good, if terribly depressing, and more than a little disturbing. That does not, however, make up for the slight-of-hand Disney pulled to pull people in to see the film with thier trailers. Fair warning to everyone who is thinking about going to see this film: this is NOT a fantasy in the vein of Narnia. It is a story about the pains of growing up as a nearly adolescent child, and all the stress and loss that comes with it. The 'fantasy' parts of the story? Yeah. You saw all of them in the trailer. All 5% of the movie.
Bah. Next time, I do some research about a movie's basis before I even think about seeing the film.
