I liked the reason you gave. I'm really fascinated by Sheldon's relationship with his family. But for some reason, this fic lacked the edge or tone of the show. Sheldon wasn't as biting, and I don't think George was all that innocent, even if he meant well. Especially since we have some evidence that he was a drunk.

Yeah, I have a tendency to go more introspective/angstier than the show really calls for. This is my first BBT piece and it was really just a way to try to get a grip on the characters. Plus I just thought it'd be cute for Sheldon and Leonard to argue about Olephaunts. XD

As far as Sheldon goes, idk, I was really just trying to show that there's more to him than the biting nature we see on the show. Like maybe he just really doesn't understand other people and their motives unless their really explicit about it.

As far as George goes, maybe it's just wishful thinking but I'd like to think that even if he was a drunk he cared about Sheldon and just wanted the best for him, just maybe he didn't know how to go about it, and maybe Sheldon didn't see it cause he's always so literal and George never came out and said it, you know?

I would absolutely give you another shot. I write for tbbt too, and capturing such divergent personalities is not an easy task. But now you've got me simmering on an idea for a George fic or maybe a Sheldon as a kid fic.
