1. Are you an Essential Worker? Yes, but I am fortunate to be able to work from home, and it is changing my life and making me think very hard about my next steps.
2. How many drinks have you had since the quarantine started? 1 glass of wine.
3. If you have kids... Are they driving you nuts? She's grown, and I miss her. They were coming every other weekend or so to visit, and this is the very first Easter I didn't create a basket for her (yes, I know.) But I have had business in town where we used to live, so I have stopped by a couple different times to hang out a little outside and chat. If they are driving you nuts, shift your thinking. Because it will be over before you realize it.
4. What new hobby have you taken up during this? Nothing new, but damn it feels good to get back to some of the oldies. Sewing, gardening, etc. It's kind of great that school starts for me while I'm at home, too. That makes easing back in a little smoother.
5. How many grocery runs have you done? I make lists and plan a menu, so I usually only need groceries every couple weeks or so.
6. What are you spending your stimulus check on? Paid off two small credit cards, and invested in a sit/stand desk for school and working from home. Saving the rest because who knows what will happen next in the crazy state of the world today.
7. Do you have any special occasions that you will miss during this quarantine? I don't think so. I usually do my own thing for Mother's Day, anyway.
8. Are you keeping your housework done? Well, he's at home, too, so this means I have more help than usual. That's kind of great, too.
9. What movies have you watched during this quarantine? Nothing super amazing. The Harley Quinn movie was cute, Mr. Right was cute. Haven't had a lot of time for it.
10. What are you streaming with? We have a couple different ones but we don't watch a lot.
11. Nine months from now is there any chance of you having a baby? No
12. What's your go-to quarantine meal? I don't have one go-to. I tend to grill or slow cook a lot, and I am always looking for ways to incorporate more vegetables.
13. Is this whole situation making you paranoid? No, it's just Wednesday for me. I think as empathetic as I am, it might get easy if I were around more people. But I have always taken extra precautions to avoid the flu, anyway. So whatever. It is making me more misanthropic, though. I have to really avoid most social media. People are just nuts. I mean both sides of the aisle, too.
14. Has your internet gone out on you during this time? Nope. And it better not.
15. What month do you predict this all ends? I don't know what to believe right now. I know we are starting to hit our peak in this state. I fear that when things ease up everywhere people won't be as cautious and the second wave will be awful. I do worry about our economy, though. It's interesting to me that while all the minorities and the poor are (as usual) getting hit the hardest by both the disease and the turn in the economy, the very wealthy and uber rich are somehow making more money (as usual). But if we open back up will it hurt these small businesses even more when people don't show up out of fear?
16. First thing you’re gonna do when you get off quarantine? To be honest, the same things we've been doing, probably. I want to visit with the grandparents and hope that we can still take our trip. But we'll see how it goes.
17. Where do you wish you were right now? Someplace warm and sunny with friends.
18. What free-from-quarantine activity are you missing the most? We weren't doing it all the time, but having people over to eat and hang out.
19. Have you run out of toilet paper and hand sanitizer? I only have hand sanitizer for the cars because of taking the dogs everywhere. And we usually shop and stock up on things, so we were sitting okay when whe world lost its mind.
20. Do you have enough food to last a month? Yes. If I am being honest, I am doing much better than a lot of people. I finally have time to cook from scratch, which means we are eating healthier and it all goes a long way. Nothing needs to be thrown out - I just make it into something else. And he's a lot more open to it, too. It's just been much healthier.
