Okay, now I'm a little behind the times here, but who is Hawkeye? (I ask because in my house, Hawkeye is the irrepressible German Shepherd).

How does he fit into the Avengers pantheon and why didn't he get his own movie--or does he? :-)

Hawkeye is Clint Barton, a sniper and weapons expert. Unlike the other Avengers, he doesn't have superpowers other than being really, really good at sharpshooting. I know he had a cameo in Thor, I don't think he's in the other prequel movies.

He's portrayed by Jeremy Renner and appears in Thor You can find a bit of his scene here:

Ah, I remember him now! Nice that not all the Avengers have superhuman powers--a little good old fashion skill is not a bad thing! :-)

He usually always plays the bad guy.....the good guy that becomes the 'shock' bad guy. I've come to associate him that way because of the roles he usually plays....

I'm crushing on him like whoa, right now, which is surprising because of all the mad Tony Stark love I've been feeling for the past few years. Can't wait for the movie, though I'm having a blast with the insane amount of Avengers stories on AO3, so the waiting's all that bad...
