Caffeine: a retrospective....
Childhood favorites- coffee cake, coffee ice cream, coca-cola, mountain dew. Oh, but you can't have coffee, sweetie. It'll stunt your growth.
Teenage favorites- jolt, english breakfast tea, chinese restaurant tea, sneaking coffee
College favorites- espresso, lattes, anything with coffee. I even worked at a starbucks. They give their employees an allotment of free coffee per week, you know.
Grad School favorites- lattes, mochas, wild cherry pepsi was the absolute favorite until I discovered that unless you are a hyperactive ten year old regular soda is a great way to gain fifteen pounds, then it was diet coke with cherry, diet coke with lime, and now, lately, *drumroll* diet mountain dew CODE RED.
Finally I seem to have come full circle and am drinking sweetened flavored highly caffinated soda again.
*sigh of nostalgia*
Also, a moment of silence please for the Canadian cd/mp3 player that
vomer brought back for me from Montreal. It was a good mp3 player, though large and heavy, and gave me many hours of joy until, one day, I dropped it. Okay I dropped it on more than one day.
After the first time I dropped it, it refused to believe it was open when I opened it and I had to turn it off if I wanted a new cd to load.
After the second time it refused to believe it was off and I had to remove the batteries to turn it off.
On the third, it decided to play only Stacey's Mom by Fountains of Wayne and no other song.
On the fourth, it decided to play Stacey's Mom only if I held down the rewind button while it was playing.
I have now dropped it a fifth and, I suspect, final time. It refuses to respond to any commands and is displaying text on the lcd screen which strongly resembles Phoenician.
It's official. I need an ipod.
