Anyone who has read my journal for a while knows about my ongoing issues with cars.

I bought a new car 6 months ago, and spent £2100 on it in the hope that spending a bit more would result in less garage bills. This seems not to be the case.

As the car had been acting a bit funny, i took it to the garage and they said it was only firing on 3 cylinders, so they changed the spark plugs and the coil pack, and asked me to drive it for a week to see if that would clear it out a bit. This cost a bit over £80. I took it back the week later and they said it was still only really firing on 3 1/2 cylinders so they would need to take the engine apart to fix it properly and if i didn't fix it properly it would eventually fuck the engine up beyond repair. So it has now been in the garage another week (they initially said it would take 3 days). I called today to see how it was going and they said it was just being road tested now, and i should be able to pick up today. They just called back however, as it has now sprung a leak from the temperature something-or-other, and they have had to order ANOTHER part which they will get tomorrow.

He has already said this part of the repair is likely to cost £400, but that was on the basis of it taking 3 days, so i am dreading the bill now that it has taken over a week, and even more parts are required than initially thought.

I hate cars. I really do. They are almost as expensive as having another child.

Its also doubley annoying as this weekend coming up is the first weekend in a while i haven't got Aimee, so it would have been nice to have some money to go out and get drunk or something.
