[By now, it's dark out, and it shows in the feed. The moonlight is just barely casting enough light for Kenshin's figure to show up against the starlit sky. He's not at home, and his surroundings seem to indicate that he's where the corn maze might have once existed. Though hardly visible, it's almost certain that his eyes are fixed somewhere off

Which is how she'd gotten lost in the first place and ended up wandering around lost for several hours unable to remember how to get back to her place and too embarrassed to ask.
Winnie listened and watched the video though, recognizing it as quite near to where she herself was situated, and invited herself to meet the man in person. He certainly sounded nice enough, if a little sad]
Hello! Beautiful night isn't it? Little dark. [Just a little.]

Ah.. it is nice, for an evening in this city. The days are getting shorter. [Though, he has to wonder what you're doing wandering around on your own this late Winnie, especially after the recent events in the city.] You're out late... is everything alright?
Reply
Oh! Er-- yes, of course! Just taking a walk, thought I'd come out here to-- [She looked around again, not quite sure where exactly 'here' was] This...place right here! [She gives him a beaming smile. This is totally where she meant to end up. Shh.]
I saw your veedeo--video-- thing. You're looking for someone?
Reply
Mm... This one was looking for a friend. [Who has apparently gone missing. Not that him disappearing for days is an unusual thing back home... But the disappearing act would be hard to do here, considering they're contained.] Though this one is starting to believe that he may have found his way home.
[[ooc: sorry about the edit! I forgot an icon. oops]]

[N-no! Sob. maybe yes]
Well, that's good, isn't it? I mean, it's terribly sad for you, of course, don't get me wrong. [And her expression is sympathetic]
But at least he's not here, yes? [She pauses, looking mildly confused] I don't think I'm coming across any nicer here. I guess that begs the question of which is better, to be here and alone, or know they're home and safe.
Also assuming your home is safe.
...I'm not making this any better, am I, dear. I'm so sorry, I'm terribly bad at this sort of thing sometimes. [FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS]

Ah...? [He blinks, his expression shifting towards slight confusion. He lifts a hand and waves it lightly.]
Ah, no. Do not worry. This one is fine. Sanosuke is very good at taking care of himself. [He exhales, the barest hint of a laugh.] If he is back home, then this one is satisfied. It would be best.
[He steps over and lightly rests his hand on her shoulder. Oh the odds are that Winnie's taller isn't it?]
Sanosuke will be fine, and this one can manage as well. [a beat. Is there anything that this one can help you with tonight? [Gonna tell him you're lost? 8D?]

But the touch on her shoulder makes her blush-- a man wouldn't dare touch her in such a way back home, it was improper, especially with her shoulder being bare and and--!
But she recovers quickly, as she's oft to do and smiles to him] I'm glad I didn't make you feel worse, at least!
[The question makes her hesitate and she hunches her shoulders a little, smile turning sheepish]
Well. I might be...a tiny bit...lost.
Actually I haven't been back to my, er, residence, since this afternoon. I'm afraid I really have no idea where exactly I am right now.

Kenshin, on the other hand has no idea how improper he's been. If he did? He'd fumble over himself to apologize. As it is, he just nods.]
Ah.. the city can be a little confusing, especially at night. [He settles his hand back at his side, his other hand casually draping over the sword at his hip.]
Do you remember any landmarks, ah... [Frown. Wait. Does he know her name?]

Note to self: Get Kenshin book on proper Victorian Gentlemen Etiquette for Christmas. Except not really that'd probably be a disaster.]
Oh, yes. I used to live in a city! But I never usually left without an escort or Agnes... [She trails off, gaze following the descent of his hand and she leans in slightly, excited] Oh! Is that a sword? Papa had me learn fencing, but I never quite had the knack for it... [Or the attention span.
Probably doesn't. She straightens somewhat and extends her hand amiably] Winnifred. Please, do call me Winnie!

He laughs, hesitantly taking hers in an awkward shake. He's at least done this a couple of times since arriving by now.]
Kenshin. It is nice to meet you, Winnie-dono. [He smiles.] Perhaps this one can help you find your way back home?

[But her smile is bright and amused] Nice to meet you too! You're too kind! [But she's not about to say 'no'] I'd like that ever so much if you really wouldn't mind.
I live in the manor, with Father Nightroad. Do you know where that is? You'd think a manor would be easy to spot... [She frowns a little, mildly distressed, and looks sheepish again]

Don't be embarassed, this one would be happy to get you back to Father Nightroad's home. [He nods slightly, glancing off in the direction opposite the way Winnie had appeared from.] This one has seen his home on the broadcast a few times, though never been there before. It should be this way.
[he motions in the direction he's looking with a slight incline of his chin, and a smile.] This one will walk you there, since it is late.

Thank you so much! [She pauses a moment, wondering if he's going to offer his arm] ...Where exactly are you from, dear?
[She can't help but be curious, stepping towards the way he mentioned, figuring he'd come into step with her] It isn't really appropriate for a lady to be out on her own at night anyhow, I never meant to stay out this long, but... [She giggles slightly] Still! It could have been much worse!

Ah? This one is from Tokyo. [He pauses, and adds a clarification.] Japan. [He smiles along with the answer as they walk back towards the city. It wasn't an uncommon one here, after all. There were so many people in the city from different places.]
This one is glad that you are safe... the city seems calm after everything that's happened recently. [there's another pause as he fixes his amethyst gaze on the Victorian woman.] Where are you from, Winnie-dono?
Reply
[Stuff happening recently? Her expression turns confused] What's been happening? I'm afraid I haven't been around long enough to really be a part of the...festivities.
Oh, I'm from London, England! That's quite far away from Japan, isn't it? I was never able to travel once, though I did go to France a few times on holiday... Is it very nice there, by the way? In Japan, I mean. I doubt you'd know much about France. [Her laugh is easy and bright, and she gives him a light, playful nudge]

England... [He's heard about the west of course, mostly the Dutch though the ships that dotted the coast of Japan and caused such an uprising were from the west and that was all that mattered then.]
This one has heard of it. [But she was asking about Japan, right? Tokyo is a peaceful city. The Meiji era has been good to it, even though it is young. Perhaps you'll get to visit it one day, Winnie-dono.
