[Here's a man in an obviously homemade shirt walking off the train. He's curious of the watch and easily learns how to handle it.]

Okay. I'm assuming people can hear me on this thing so I'd like to know what was going on right now. Where am I and how do I get home? And by home, I mean Earth.

[Sam was passing by, doing rounds with her Zat strapped around her thigh. Instead of a uniform though, she's wearing black pants over her boots and a sweater over an obscured gray tee.

It's his voice that makes her stop and it takes her a moment to speak.]

Ja- General O'Neill, sir. You'll have to specify which Earth, there are several people here who claim that they're from Earth and they're all different.

[A pause while she's eying that shirt. God, why does it look so familiar?]

What are you wearing, sir?

[Jack stares at little at the obviously older Carter talking to him. He looks behind him as if she can't be talking to him. He wasn't a General. No one in their right mind would make him a General.

He wasn't sure what to say. After three months of being stranded without rescue, he was here. With Carter. And yet with her hair so long it was obvious something was wrong.]

...Carter?

[Except the United States Air Force. They probably thought the only way to get him to stop disregarding some orders was to make it so he had no choice but to give them.

A slight nod.]

Yes, sir. I'm sorry to say that I'm the only person that will greet you that you'll recognize. We're not on any world accessible by a Stargate.

[Jack stared a little more. Mainly at the hair.]

Carter. What's with the hair?

My hair, sir?

[Sam reaches up at her hair, expecting something odd but... Nope, just her hair.]

Nothing, sir, except that I've been neglecting pulling it into a bun since I'm not in uniform.

I must be missing something because you could not have grown that much hair in three months. And I obviously didn't know you as well as I thought I did because I never thought you wanted hair that long.

[Jack is very confused. Can you tell?]

Three months, sir? It's been growing for a few years now, since I was placed in command of the Atlantis Expedition. Don't tell me that all that time in the Pentagon is making you forget my face? And hair?

[Oh, she can tell. And she's just as confused.]

There are so many things wrong with you just said I don't know where to begin.

[There was a pause before he started listing them anyway.]

Okay. 1, we've only known each other for three years. 2, what Atlantis Expedition and why aren't you on SG-1 anymore? 3, Why would I be working at the Pentagon? And 4, What's with the hair?

You're making a good start, sir. Now where should I start?

We've known each other since the mission to Chulak, which was over ten years ago. The Atlantis Expedition is just that, sir. A team was sent from Earth to the Pagasus galaxy to recover the Ancient city: Atlantis. They've been there for a few years now.

As for SG-1, it's been awhile since I was a part of it. I've since commanded the Atlantis Expedition, I was the commander of the George Hammond and now I'm in command in the SGC. In the mean time, you're in the Pentagon because that's where you've been working for the past year.

And the hair has grown out over all that time. Since I haven't seen combat in awhile, my hair isn't quite as much of a disadvantage. So now I can just tie it up and still meet regulations.

Did you hit your head during the attack, sir? Why don't you remember all this? You were even in command of Atlantis for a short time.

Carter, the Chulak mission was a little under three years ago. There is no Atlantis Expedition and no General Hammond unless you count the man himself. And he's the one incharge of the SGC. Certainly not a Major in the Air Force.

And what attack are we talking about? I've been stuck on Edora for three months!

More than three years, sir. And I'm certain their is, I've been there and run into the Wraith enough times.

[Sam frowns, suddenly feeling a dull ache in her chest.] General Hammond is gone, sir. He died in 2008, of a heart attack... That's why we called our ship the George Hammond. It was in his honor.

[Pause. Everything else? Gone!]

Edora?

[That sounded familiar. Just like that shirt looked familiar. And then it hits her, like fire rain.

Now she remembers. Edora. Laira. And... hurting, just a bit. A lot.]

P5C-768. Sir, that was years ago. A good many years ago.

What are the Wraith?

[That stumped him. Carter wouldn't joke about that but it made no sense.]

Yes Edora. The fire rain was coming down and we evacuated everyone we wanted to come through the Stargate. Laira's boy went missing so I went back to look for him and it was too dangerous to go back outside. So once it had calmed down, I went looking for the Stargate but it was buried.

Been there three months and now I'm here. And it was years ago. It was now.

The Wraith are a vampiric hive-based species that harvest the 'life-force' of other humanoid beings for nourishment through suckers on their right hand palm. They're also, apparently, capable of restoring life to humans. I say apparently because I've never witnessed it but Sheppard has apparently experienced it.

[Sam crosses her arms, taking a breath and finding a bench inside the station to sit. This was... weird.]

It was though, sir, ten years ago. It took about three months but I constructed a particle accelerator, similar to when Sokar attacked the iris, to superheat the hardened naquadah around the buried gate. Once we redialed, it created a pocket and Teal'c went through to dig his way up.

[She shakes her head.]

This makes no sense.

You have to be making that up! That's what people put in science fiction movies! And who's Sheppard?

[He sits down also, very confused.]

You didn't. I was still stuck there before I got here.

And you can say that again.

I wish I was, sir. A lot of good men and women died at the hands of the Wraith. McKay almost died, even. And... Colonel John Sheppard, he was assigned to the Atlantis Expedition when I was under Elizabeth Weir's command.

[Sam sighs, rubbing lightly at her temples.]

I remember watching Teal'c go through the gate. You helped him reach the surface, in the nick of time I might add. He only had so much oxygen in there after the gate shut down.

[Hang on, the gears are turning in Sam's head.]

The people that brought us here, they call themselves the Watcher and Interloper. They took us without the use of Asgard beaming technology which, it seems to me, means they're far more advanced. It's entirely possible that they can manipulate time as well, similar to the time jumper except it doesn't require the ATA gene.

I don't know who McKay is. Or Sheppard. Or Elizabeth Weir.

[He's shaking his head. It was hurting.]

So what? This is like when we went back to 1969?
