[To anyone out walking around the train station, you will run into a very tired but satisfied Nation. He's standing outside his finally finished home, smiling up at it with an affection normally reserved for his sister, his girlfriend, and his guns... not in any particular order

[Lazlo is out and about on a usual patrol, though has to slow once he spots the house, as well as the person outside of it. A smile quirks his lips up.

He trots over, pausing with a hand resting lightly on his hip.] That's a beautiful place you have there.

I cannot remember if these two have met >.> Forgive me!

[Vash glances over, an eyebrow raising.]

Ah-- Thank you.

[Beautiful and completely able to turn into a impenetrable fortress at any moment.]

...It's been a long project, but...

[He gives a small smile. Complimenting his house is almost as good as complimenting his heartland, really.]

[Lazlo ventures closer, surveying the house thoughtfully.]

[Closer inspection of the house reveals a few little oddities-- rivets in unusual places/in general, glints of hidden metal, and a distinct feeling of... waiting. Preparing.]

Yes. It will keep my sister safe, and that's the main objective.

[But the nation has built a house or two in his day, so hearing that his skills are appreciated...]

[Lazlo treats him to a more curious glance.]

Your sister, hm?

[He smiles as he hears his name, nodding his head.]

That's right. It's good to meet you in person.

Yes. Liechtenstein-- er, Lili. She looks a little like me because she cut her hair to match mine, silly thing, but she wears dresses and a ribbon...

[He has a small smile on his face talking about his sister; it's obvious he cares for her greatly.

Vash extends a hand for Lazlo to shake.]

I could say the same. How have you been since we last spoke?

Ah--does she idolise her brother, then? [It sounds sweet, really.

Lazlo clasps his hand with his own gloved one, shaking it firmly. He smiles.]

Well, actually. And yourself?

[This is Vash looking both pleased and embarrassed at that statement about his sister, not sure how to answer it. So he simply smiles slightly at the firmness of that shake and returns it with equal energy.]

Except for the incident with the jungle? I can't complain.

[Lazlo just smiles at that, seeing no need to say anything further. He lowers his hand after a moment.]

No? Ah, I bet you miss the jungle considerably. [It's a bit of easy joking.] I know I miss not sleeping in a bed.

[Considering during the time he nearly drowned and shot his girlfriend, along with a myriad of other little fun things that are still healing?]

No. I can't say I do. I appreciate being able to sleep without worrying about waking up with a long extinct reptile chewing on my leg.

Ah, but those were the best part of it all.

[With a faint chuckle, he uplifts his hand in a shrug.]

[...Your definition of "the best part" may be just a little different from his there, Lazlo.

All the same the nation gives him a small smile and nods towards the house.]

Can I offer you something to drink, Lazlo? I have a fresh pot of coffee brewing.

[Oh, but Lazlo's merely joking. He doesn't in any way miss that jungle, really.]

Oh? That would be nice. [And he's not one to turn down hospitality.]

[Vash nods and leads the way inside. He's been working hard on being more hospitable here, thinking maybe... maybe it'll make up for all the times he wasn't back home.]

Do you have anything in particular you'd like?

[As they head back towards the kitchen, the smell of fresh coffee grows stronger.]

[Lazlo follows after him, drawing in the smell. Coffee was uncommon on the ship--they'd had ale, though, and always lots of water. One had to be careful with water, especially out further at sea.]

Anything at all is fine with me, really.

[Vash goes ahead and pours Lazlo a cup of coffee along with his own.]

What do you take in your coffee, Lazlo? I have sugar, goat's milk, cream...

[Yes, he's very specific and very proud of his goat's milk. It is the only kind, in his opinion, that counts.]
