[Feferi didn't start playing with her little communicator until after she'd been in the city for quite some time. Rather, the idea of exploring this strange new place she'd been dropped in seemed ten times more appealing, and she spent an hour trying to discover and understand her new surroundings. The gravel under her toes, the wall, the incredible building in the center of the city--whatever that even was--it was all so new and, well, exciting!
It was when she was running down an alley towards a strange rustling sound that the watch jostled against her hand and clicked on. Feferi glanced down at the watch in passing, then came to a full and abrupt halt as she saw her reflection in the screen of the camera.]
Whoaa...
[It was almost like a webcam; she'd had contact with a few of her friends through something similar before. Living under the sea made it pretty difficult to make any reel friends. Pun completely intended. A bright grin (it might have seemed menacing, should you not know the person behind it) crossed her face, and Feferi played with the camera angle for a minute before making sure she could get her entire face in the frame, horns and all.]
Glub, glub. Hello! I don't think these things work unless you have someone on the other side, right? Well, hi, whoever's out there! Trying to find a person in this place is like trying to find a tear in the Alternian sea! The whole looking-for-trolls thing is reely exciting but it's kind of weird to be on land and then have no one here! I thought it would be different up here!
[Pushing her goggles up onto her forehead, Feferi turned the video feed and peered into it, slowing down her ramble to ask a question.]
So, I guess I should get right to the hook; is there anyone there...?
