Scott Pilgrim and the Summer People [Video]
[Whether it be on purpose or by accident, no one will ever really know, but Scott Pilgrim's watch was open and all the while recording as he spoke to himself.
It was difficult to make out Scott's face in the camera, being that dusk was beginning to settle. The summer air had made Scott's face moist with sweat, which reflected under the moon above. The youngster looks out into the horizon, seeming to pay no attention to the watch next to him. For a few moments, there is only the audible sound of chirping crickets and running water. Bowing his head down, Scott suddenly came to life and began to speak.]
"I've got a lot of shit to figure out.. I.. I don't even know where to start.
Things haven't changed much, ya' know? Like.. Like everything that happened with Knives. This is just like it was then. I'm clinging. Clinging to some stupid idea that maybe I can just start over and ALL my problems will just go away. But it doesn't work like that, see? I still remember. No one else here knows that things I've done, but I can't forget.
I can't forget who I've hurt, and I can't keep fighting this feeling inside of me. My shadow isn't gone, and he keeps clutching my heart until it feels like it's going to burst.
I miss her a lot.. Still.. Which just ends up making me feel even more like shit on top of every thing else. I haven't grown up, and I haven't changed. I can't stick with one thing, and it isn't fair to her for me to be like this."
[The subtle sound of strings being plucked between calloused fingers echoes against the walls surrounding Scott as he speaks.]
"What do I do? Life was so easy when I had people trying to kill me every where I went.. But now being here in this place..? I'd take fighting Gideon over being here any day.
I'm lucky to have the peeps I have here and all, damn lucky to have them.
How long before they see it, too? Before they realize that my shadow isn't just a shadow.."
