[Action] Day 34

Mar 13, 2011 03:14

[With a sigh Roxas found himself once more staring up into the afternoon sky, just staring as he watched for what seemed the hundredth time as the brighter oranges slowly bled into a deep violet at the edge of the horizon. The past week or so had just felt like a step back from any of the progress he'd been making as far settling in since arriving ( Read more... )

[It just so happens that Maciel and his little troupe would be out, making way to the market. It's been a while since all of them had been able to go out together like this, so the dragonlings seem in high spirits as they run about, laughing. They don't wander too far from Maciel and Naata, the latter of whom seems to be more content watching than joining in playing with the others.

Kaata is the first to spot the blond-haired Nobody, and he eagerly waves the others to attention. ~Look!~]

Hm? Oh, Roxas!

[At first he was too busy wallowing in his self-pity and frustrations to really notice it, but as he closed his watch after checking the time, it dawned on him that there was a reasonably familiar sound in the background. It was faint, but quite distinct, he just couldn't remember where he'd heard it from.

It was about then that he heard a familiar voice call his name as he stood up and looked down to ground level to get his answer. Yup, that background noise was the sound of dragonlings that he'd heard in the background when talking with Maciel during his first serious incident in the city.

Not thinking that it'd be fair to sulk when he had company, he puts on a smile before waving down.]

Hey Maciel! Out with your friends today?

[The children all look up and wave back cheerfully. They'd never met Roxas in person, but he seemed like a nice enough person.

Maciel smiles back, giving a nod.]

Mmhm! We're going to the market. -but it's good to see you, Roxas! How are you?

[For a moment, he wasn't really sure how to answer that. The truth that he'd just gone off on his own to sulk and mope over things just really didn't seem like the most appealing way to handle things. So he gave a little thought to things before speaking up again.]

I've been better. I guess I've been kind of sulking around for a little while... uhm, would you guys want some company?

[Maciel isn't sure why the boy would be doing so, but then he knows there had probably been a lot more going on for the events of the week past that specifically affected those that were particularly familiar with it. He knows that sometimes people need their space, though. Still, to hear the question from the boy is a bit of a relief, and the young sorcerer nods, waving him down.]

You're more than welcome to join us.

[Without any further hesitation, he takes a leap off the rooftop. He focuses for only an instant as his glide ability kicks in and carries him toward the sorcerer. Veering off the to side slightly, making a quick circle to slow himself down before dropping neatly onto his feet.

Hastily dusting himself off, he turns about and gives a nod toward the other blond.]

Thanks. I think I've had enough time to myself for now.

[He's a little surprised when one of the little dragonlings poses that question to him. Roxas would have to be excused for sheepishly laughing in reply.]

Something like that. I can only glide though.

[He immediately turns to Maciel and nods, offering his hand to shake.]

Yeah, now that you mention it, this is the first time we've met face to face, isn't it?

[Maciel nods as he reaches over to shake Roxas' hand.] It is, and under better circumstances, yes?

[The dragonlings gravitate closer towards the boy to say hello. Naata remains beside Maciel, but he'll offer Roxas a nod in acknowledgment.]

[He nods as they shake, a more contented smile finally coming to his face.] Yeah, really. The whole thing just slapped me in the face with a few realizations, but I'm glad it's over now.

[Roxas regards the dragonlings with some amusement -they're not too unlike a flock of preschoolers in the way they behave... Naata aside anyway, who he merely returns a nod to.]

Me too. [Quite glad that it's all over. That had been just as terrifying as when all the possessions had occurred, and Maciel doesn't want to think about how much worse these occurrences can get.]

Holy crap! A rainbow of dragonlings! Like skittles. notquiteanobody March 15 2011, 06:21:19 UTC
[He had to stop a moment to count as each introduced the other, seemingly astounded with the little family that Maciel seemed to have with him.]

And it's nice to meet all of you guys too.

[And about then, his stomach decided to rather audibly grow.]

Uh, uhhm... I think I could go for some lunch. What about all of you?

[The girls giggle a little at that. Smiling, Maciel nods in agreement to Roxas' suggestion.]

Ah, that sounds like a good idea!

I'm still kind of new around here, why don't you pick a place? Otherwise I'll just head for The Usual Spot.

[Somehow, he couldn't help but be amused and weirded out that from what he'd learned, his Other had named the shop that. But anywy, he was in good company now and somehow the clutch of dragonlings and their friend was proving to be a rather positive boost to his spirits.]

Hmm. Well usually that's why we go to the market- and then once we get the things we need, we go home and I'll prepare lunch for everyone. But I'd rather not make you wait- your stomach might object. [He chuckles.]

We haven't been to The Usual Spot yet. We wouldn't mind going though, would we?

[The latter he directs towards the dragonlings, who voice their agreement with eager cheers.]

Sadly, that will have to wait for tomorrow. The stores where I get 'em cheap are closed now. notquiteanobody March 15 2011, 07:24:33 UTC
[Part of him felt a little bad for more or less forcing a somewhat abrupt change of plans of them. But if nothing, he'd come to learn his way around the back counter of that place rather well by now. And for what it was worth, his experience had taught him that it was hard to find a sandwich that no one liked.]

Thanks, well if we're headed there, I'll go ahead and handle lunch once we're there.

Think of it as me saying 'thanks' for holding off on your shopping for a little bit.
