[ So, he got off of the train with his Electro-Mag rod extended, charged, and tapping idly at his shoulder. There was something hovering around, he knew it, but he couldn't see, hear, or smell anything. Once he got off, he first tried to use his cell phone. No dice.
But then he found this nice silver pocket-watch that..wasn't actually a pocket watch

All of us here have been kidnapped by the Watcher and the Interloper. I don't have any more information on them, but someone else might.
[[She speaks dramatically, as if she's used to being on the stage.]]
For room and board, simply wander around and help yourself to anything in a place that is neither locked nor inhabited. There's plenty of places that meet that description, so there's no excuse for stealing from anyone that's here.
Claim a home, you'll find keys inside, and you'll be able to lock it when you go out. Stores function on the same principle, though shops such as mine... [[She pans the camera around the room slowly--she seems to be a watch and clock maker, though there's also a display case of metal teapots.]] We hand make our wares and will ask for fair trade in time.
I can give you directions to the more populated end of town, or you can wander about aimlessly till you find somewhere you like on whatever criteria you please.
Stay out of the park; there are monsters there the deeper you go in.
[[She intentionally neglects mentioning the cathedral or the catacombs.]]

'Sounds pretty ass backwards, but hey. I'm not complainin' if it's free, but yeah, I'll probably need some directions. 'Place doesn't look like any town I've ever seen. [ He didn't look like it, but rest assured, he was mentally cataloging every detail she laid on him. ]
'Those monsters ever decide to come out and play in town at all?

There's a pub called the Black Stallion near there. About two hundred yards past the theatre, there's a narrow street without a sign that leads to a few shops. This is the general area that people are around.
There's also ShinRa hotel, but you don't want to get involved with that. They're not good people, and I believe that Mr. ShinRa has been taken home by our captors.
They do that occasionally...I think they think we're toys that can be put away when they're bored of us.

[ Oh, but honey. You said the magic words. ] Now there's a name I know..I'm not surprised they're out here--wherever 'Ruby City' is. Huh, I missed th' President himself, though? Lucky, lucky. [ Only not really. ]
'They'? Y'mean the Interloper and Watcher? [ He took a moment, looking off thoughtfully. ] ...'Sounds like a social experiment. [ Strange. He never heard of anything like this going on. And Turks knew all the dirty little secrets and plans. ]

You know about ShinRa? You're from that world, then... This place exists as a pocket dimension, a world between worlds that can be connected and severed at our captor's whims.
I doubt it's a social experiment. I doubt they have methods so close to human that we can even understand them.

He hated being left in the dark. ] Yep. So, this ain't just another city on th' map, it's a whole other world.
Hah..gotta give it to 'em for managin' that one, but it solves a few problems, creates a dozen more. Like how t'get back.

Getting back isn't going to be all that difficult once we crack the method by which we were brought here. As an ergaleomancer, I'm devoting my time to that very pursuit. Then again, I also have to devote enough time to running my shop, as I can't manage entirely on my own without assistance.

An ergaleomancer? That's a new one...I'm guessin' it's from whatever world you're from?

It is. We're a combination of many things--scientists, mathematicians, physicists, engineers, inventors, magicians... All of those roles in one person.

[ Cocks a brow at the roach, having a hard time telling it's mechanical through the small screen. ]

[[She looks down at her teacup and taps it gently, and the teapot at the side of the counter gets up and wanders over, bowing to her to fill the cup. She may or may not have done that just to show off.]]

I'll keep it in mind. Keep in touch, now.
