[Gilbert is back, perched at the windowsill by the time that Naoki arrives back. But now instead of staring at his cigarette he's glaring at his communicator like it was a rather treacherous little device. Maybe it was. He looks up when the door opens though, a bit wide-eyed, which really only grows wider as he takes in Naoki's appearance. And it occurs to him here that Naoki must have heard him.] Naoki...

[Gilbert blinks, not entirely sure why it's a surprise to find himself in Naoki's arms. It shouldn't be. But it takes his body a moment to react, stilled by the words maybe. All at once though Gilbert seems to find the ability to move again, and he reaches his arms up to wrap about Naoki in turn, tightly, holding onto him like Naoki is the only thing keeping him from being swept away entirely.] It's... is it that easy? [He shifts to hide his face against Naoki's shoulder.]

[Gilbert is holding on and not letting go right now. His fingers are pressing tightly into Naoki's back, like maybe if he just holds on long enough things will make sense. He's silent at the words, listening closely.] Naoki... I... [He's trying not to do the silly thing here, which would be to wind up crying, but he's kind of close.] Mm. You're right.

[Gilbert is really quite glad for the physical contact. It's more reassuring than he can really say, the movement of Naoki's hands over his back. He's silent for a moment, just soaking up his warmth.] Thank you... that... means more than I can say. [He glances up, finally unburying his face from his shoulder to peek up at him.] Jack Vessalius is here.

[Gilbert nods just slightly, looking at Naoki as levelly as possible, trying not to shake -- in body or in word.] Yes. Though he... I don't think he knows what happens, he's from before the Tragedy of Sablier. So it... [He shakes his head before adding in a lower, uncertain whisper.] He knows me... knew me... as a child.

[Gilbert turns into the touch at his cheek. He shuts his eyes just momentarily before looking back to him. And he nods.] It seems that way... it... [He glances down again.] I don't... I don't know what to do. [He shifts here again, moving to wrap his arms tightly around Naoki again, pressing his face to his shoulder again.] What should I do?

[Oh that's been on Gilbert's mind. What if the truth of who he is changes things? Between him and Naoki? Him and Oz? He tightens his arms around him.] It's... it's who I was. But I... I'm me, aren't I? [He looks up again, golden eyes rather wide.] You'll still... [He trails off.]

[Gilbert is silent for a long moment, eyes fixed on Naoki's as though maybe he can find the answers to his unasked questions there.] You'll still... want me, won't you? I was... just a child. It can't be... [It can't change everything, can it?]
