-s ridiculous. Another train should have come by now.
[ There’s the sound of shifting and then a tired, yet frustrated sigh. ] Maybe this watch is fast, hm. . .
[ Broken even; it would explain why the watch had been abandoned in the first place. Either way, she has been waiting on another train at this station for well over an hour; she hasn’t seen anything remotely close to a train, or even another person. And I need to get home before Dad notices me missing. That is something she really, really wants to avoid. So when it comes down to it…
Guess I don’t have much of a choice. ]
. . . Fine.
[ There’s more shifting and then the soft pad of footsteps - one step, two step and then she’s onto three. The video feed abruptly clicks on then to show… blue fabric and lots of it, along with a row of fingertips visible on the rim of the screen. Apparently the device is being held close to one’s side as said person takes a stroll down the supposedly abandoned train tracks; the pocket watch having clicked on with a nice bump to the thigh. ]
If I just follow this back the way I came. . .
[ She’ll be able to find her way home without delay. It probably isn’t the smartest idea, granted, but. ]
. . . Hope it’s not too far.
[ Heaving another sigh, much heavier and more exasperated than the last, she keeps on trudging along the tracks. The video feed is still running at her side, but Haruhi briefly angles the watch up at her face, silently taking note of the time before she lets her hand swing back to her side.
So hey Ruby City, see ya! Haruhi is gonna try to ditch ya now, kay? ]
