He's seated in one of the wooden chairs near the small table, leaning forward so that his forearms rest against his knees. The look on his face is quite serious, nervous, and his golden eyes are wide, fixed on something that the feed is not picking up.So.

But it's already staying. I tried to shoo it out. [He pauses and mutters.] With a long stick.

...you can't know that, Naoki. It already tried. It may be small but it has teeth.

[Well that at least is reassuring. He nods at that.]

Good. The little monster isn't allowed in my room.

Mm. More or less. [Gil, however, deep down believes that his "phobia" is perfectly rational and that the rest of the world has been totally suckered in by the feline agenda.]

Exposure? ...you mean keep it around on purpose?

[Gil thinks this might make sense. But that doesn't mean he likes it.] ...do you really think so? [That would actually be useful, to be honest.]

You have? [Gil isn't one to be particularly nosy, but he is curious.] What are you afraid of?

Maybe... it can't hurt to try it. [Well, unless he's right and the cat kills him in his sleep. But well, then he'll be too dead to care much about it.]

Lightning? [He echoes this thoughtfully, before nodding slightly.] I suppose they are. And it's... well, you can't avoid the weather. Still, even if exposure is supposed to help... fear doesn't go away over night. [Meaning, he feels you on this one, Naoki. It sucks to be frightened of things beyond your control.]

[See now, he appreciates that offer.] It's... sleeping on my hat right now. [His poor hat. Oh god.] But maybe I'll take you up on that in the future.

[A pause.]

Of course, maybe I could invite you over even if it's not to keep the monster at bay. [He attempts something of a smile, even if his eyes keep flickering nervously over to where the cat is.] It's maddeningly quiet here sometimes. [And thus far Naoki's been good company. Gil appreciates that.]
