[Gilbert is agitated, and not very good at hiding it. But this should be nothing new. Right now he's standing by the window of Naoki's room. The last pack of cigarettes he never threw out? Currently mostly smoked through. But right now, his eyes are fixed on the communicator.Naoki hasn't woken up yet. I'm not really sure what the reason for it is.

[There are certain things she always pays attention for on the network and one of them is her name, even though she's currently scrubbing her lab spotless. Hence the slightly sweaty complexion and sponge in the hand not holding her communicator.]

Christine, here. How can I help?

[For a minute he's not sure how to begin.] Xion mentioned your name to me, said something about the clinic and blood, but...

I was hoping you could help, or at least tell if anything was wrong with Naoki. After putting the terminals back in order... he won't wake up. Maybe it's just exhaustion, or something to do with the energy he used, but still...

Is he still not awake? [She'd noted his efforts, worried slightly, but she'd been busy and it hadn't seemed critical. Now, she throws her sponge back into her pail with a little splash, preparing to leave. It seems like an occaison for a house call.]

I can be there in ten.

[A shake of his head at that.] He's not.

[A pause and he looks relieved at that.] Thank you. We're [and he rattles off directions.]

See you shortly. [She ends the feed and dashes up stairs, changing into a clean shirt and fixing her ponytail, then moving back downstairs, popping in to tell Elraine she was going out before leaving, scanner and basic medical kit with her.

She arrives eleven minutes after she ended the tranmission, but she's not sure it will be noticed, as she knocks at the door.]

[Gilbert isn't all that cognizant of how time is actually moving, so he certainly doesn't notice. All he knows is that she's here. He actually left Naoki's room to wait by the door, so he opens it almost immediately after the knock. ...yeah he's not worried or anything.]

Thank you for coming. He's upstairs. [He gestures towards the stairs.]

[She nods and starts up the stairs, all professional.]

What can you tell me about what he had to do in the Network? [Remembering manners, she glances back at him.] Oh, and what's your name?

[He follows after, blinking at the question. Well, the easier one first.] Gilbert.

In the network, he found everyone and got them out. I think it was setting the terminals back to normal that did this to him. He's... [Ok. Best understanding that Gilbert has of all this, go.] Naoki is part demon. He draws energy from human emotions. I think he spent a lot of what he'd had stored up to put things right.

[Once upstairs he opened the door to Naoki's room, showing her inside.]

[Oh, great, unknown physiology: Christine's favourite. She nods her thanks at him and moves into the room, setting her kit down and pulling her scanner from her pocket. Small and cylindrical, it was in her pocket when she was brought here, and there in generally stays, just like it did in her own universe. As she moves it over Naoki, it produces a series of beeps, clicks, and whirs. Listening to those tells her most of what she needs to know about his physiological state.]

Are you two from the same place? The same universe?

[Gilbert stands back to let her work. He knows well enough how to remain out of the way when he'll be useless, and right now is certainly one of those times. His eyes are focused though, on Naoki and on the strange little device she's using. He looks to her at the question though. He shakes his head.]

No. Naoki's world is very different than mine. We met here.

Ah. Do you know if there's anybody here who knew him before coming here? It would help me a lot.

[Gilbert shakes his head again at that.] Naoki is the only person from his world in the city. [Is that really bad? Man Gilbert hates feeling useless, even if it's how he spends the majority of his life.]

Alright. [She's quiet, scanning a bit longer, then snaps on gloves as she moves to check Naoki's pulse at his neck, then his mouth and eyes.]

His vital signs are stable, brain activity normal, no serious damage that I can tell. I'd like to get him set up on an IV, but aside from that, I'm really not sure what else could be done.

[Gilbert is sure that some of those words should be reassuring, and they are. At least there's nothing medically wrong. But at the same time, it means he still doesn't know for sure what's wrong with him.] An IV?

[He blinks, not at all sure what that is.]

Yeah, it's a medical treatment. Basically, I'll put a needle into one of his veins and attach the needle to tubing that runs from a bag I'll hang somewhere. In the bag will be a saline-based solution that will make sure he stays hydrated and somewhat supported by nutrients while he's out.

[That sounds a little bit like torture, but well, ok, Gilbert nods a bit at that. It does make sense.] All right.

Is there anything I can... should... do for him? While he's out?
