Naoki was neck-deep in reading…
He’d noticed the changes in the city, of course he had. Hard not to! He’d been out and about, curiously exploring the festival, but he didn’t want to go out right now, not when he was so immersed in this book. Perhaps later. Perhaps he could ask Gilbert to go along with him, too… It wasn’t near as fun to go on one’s own, after all.
Hmm. He smiled to himself, and it wasn’t at what he was reading. He hadn’t quite gotten over how good it was to have the other back, how happy he was that Gilbert was back. His fingers flexed on the pages, then he thumbed to the next one, reclining where he sat on the windowsill. Outside the city was in the midst of another one of those crisp, clear days-leading up to autumn and then winter. Soon he’d be seeing his second birthday here, wouldn’t he? Then Christmas…
Naoki chuckled quietly to himself, ending up closing the book to look out of the window and watch the sky. It’d been such a while.
