It's not the good sort of auto-pilot, either - the one that takes over and leaves you flying straight and true toward your destination with few worries until you have to land. This auto-pilot is broken, sending the plane into a spin and the inevitable crash and burn.
He's not sober, but he's sleep deprived. Going out for a walk earlier had proven to be a bad idea, as he'd done nothing but run across creatures out for his indigo blood, the color of which now ran down his arms. He now walks vacantly toward the castle without thinking, his footsteps steady but slow and his clubs hanging at his side.
The troll is ready to kill the next thing that he comes across, friend or enemy.]

After the first death, it was really hard not to just throw himself at everything that moved. Everything that wasn't Alternian, anyway. It got harder and harder with every punch he threw, taking out hominids with barely any effort. Rage built slowly, patheticness of his ever growing number of opponents wearing steadily on his nerves. If he was going to do this, if he was going to fight, he wanted an all-out death match, worthy of someone with his exceptional abilities.
He didn't know if following Gamzee would take him to that level of an encounter, but even if it didn't, there would be great honor to be had in attending the Highblood in battle.]

He turns his head slightly, giving Equius a blank stare to let him know he's aware he's being followed, then turns back and continues to walk.]
You're bleedin', motherfucker.

[And it's beautiful. Everything about Gamzee right now fits into the ideal he'd built in his head since his youth. All he needed was a few more splashes of vibrantly colored blood, and he'd be perfect.]

He could so easily add the blue... but he's just sane enough that he refrains from it with the logic that an extra pair of eyes will be helpful and the blueblood is a strong motherfucker. He doesn't need the help, but he won't deny it for now.
The blue will be added later.]
Everyone'll bleed before it's over.

[But such actions would not be helpful now. Instead, he cracks his neck and his knuckles, then stretches his arms over his head, preparing for the next fight]
I eagerly await the occasion, Highblood. We shall paint the city with mirth.

((Threadhop successful, moving on to Phase Two! ...Whatever that happens to be.))

Another double staircase is situated off to one side, steps lining the walls and leading upwards to a balcony with a set of heavy wooden French doors in its center.
The Princess isn't in this room, of course, and at first glance neither is anybody else. That doesn't mean it's empty, naturally-- A row of guards is hidden in the shadows to either side of the upstairs landing, armed with crossbows and polearms, ready to protect the doorway at all costs.
At the appearance of intruders, one of the crossbowmen fires without warning.]

The sound of the crossbow is her first indication that anything's amiss, and her head snaps up just in time to bring her torso around and present a wider target for the incoming bolt, which takes her squarely in the chest. There's an almost canid-sounding yelp of pain as the girl falls with a jerk onto one side, where she lies still atop a rapidly-spreading red stain.]
((Phase Two; Release the Kraken... T-Rex... ...Drama?)

202? Dammit...
[He winces as a second round of fire clatters just outside of their hiding place. He's no doctor, but... 202's pulse is thready under his trembling fingers. Not good.]
((Holy frick, didn't see that one coming.))

((It was a little spur-of-the-moment, I'm sorry! Nothing like a nice old-fashioned sucking chest wound to keep things exciting.))

[First thing first, those crossbow wielders had to go. There's nothing he can do for 202; removing that bolt will only make the bleeding worse... Hating himself for being so helpless to even ease his relatively new friend's pain, Vash steels himself. If he survives this next move... There's a high probability that he will be coming back to a corpse.
Without further thought he darts out from their hiding place, firing five adrenaline aimed bullets that take down the crossbowmen even as one of their shots grazes his already injured left arm; the blood that flows is darker than normal, but there's no time to think about it.
The remaining two guards rush him, halberds lowered. Waiting until the last moment Vash leaps out of their path, managing to trip one and put a round in the back of the other's head. He's slowing down... and the remaining assailant knows it.]
((You can bleed unimpressively? I'll have to keep that in mind xD))

Another sharp breath and another lungful of blood accompanies the bolt's removal, but she's more concerned for Vash now that she's awake enough to see what he's up to; His movements, though obviously expert, are slowing. Blessing whatever luck kept her hand clenched on her pistol despite her comatose state, she brings it up and puts a pair of slick new holes in the remaining guard's chest with a wince--That recoil doesn't feel like a kiss on the nose, not with a wound like hers to consider.]

...202? What... How... I mean...
[His eyes travel to the wound on her chest; while still serious, it's... well, it's not what it should be. Vash slumps against the wall, pressing the stock of his gun against his forehead. The cooler metal helps ease the increasing pain slightly. He needs to stop being surprised by things here...]
((Man, that's disappointing. :D))

I'll be fine in a minute... It wouldn't even have put me down... if I wasn't... so damned tired. My body... [She shakes her head again.] I'll explain some other time. Are you all right? Let me see that arm...
((Tell me about it. I was pretty ticked to learn that my adrenaline couldn't aim for me like Vash's, mind you... X3 ))
