All the same, it made it worthwhile to head to the forest anyway, seeing as how that was where all the creatures had started coming from. Keyblade or not, the young lord of Oushuu wasn't about to sit back and watch. Here was what they'd been waiting for, a clue on where to find the bastard that had been stringing them along. Armor donned and all six blades at his side, Masamune Date made way into the deeper darkness.
His lightning laced attacks cleaved easily through the smaller Heartless, but a smirk lit his face once he started running into the stronger ones. "Must be gettin' close if you guys are gettin' tougher, ah?" He raised his katana, preparing to strike, waiting for the move of the Neoshadows before he'd counter and attack. Mindless. They didn't have much by way of skills, and not worth the effort for three blades, let alone two claws.

The Darkside pulls itself up to stand at its full height, yellow eyes gleaming down on its opponent. Could you be strong enough to slay this beast? Here comes the opportunity to find out.
Its massive right claw glows with the darkness before it is slammed into the ground near Masamune, summoning another dark portal. To attack the fist - one of its weak points - or go after the Shadows that appear through the portal?

As the large Heartless emerged from the dark portal, the blue-clad warlord grinned viciously. "Oh, now that's more like it."
He lept back and away as that massive fist came crashing into the ground not far from where he'd been standing. His blade gleamed as he pulled it back, darting towards the Darkside's fist to slash at it while it was still outstretched. Easiest way to defeat an enemy was to disarm it, after all. If those Shadows got in his way, he'd deal with them when it came to it.

The Heartless are ever happy to oblige in entertainment of this sort, which was easy to see since they thrive on the dark and on violence. The Darkside makes no reaction that is visible, for it lacks the ability to sneer and display human emotions. Consume... feed the hunger...
The darkness swirls beneath and between Masamune's legs as he attacks the fist, Shadows pulling themselves up from it and remaining half-hidden - if it were not for their glowing yellow eyes they may have been impossible to spy - before they collectively jump into action to defend the Darkside, aiming to dogpile on the warlord.

His good eye flicks downwards, seeing the writhing Shadows that rise from the ground. "Che-!" Releasing one hand's hold from his sword, he reaches across to wrench another blade from its sheath, slashing at the other creatures. Annoying things! He would rip his other blade about, intending to make short work of the creatures that attempted to stop him.

Such a height was a simple distance to reach. He and Yukimura often had battles that took them miles above the ground in their heated contests. As soon as the lesser Heartless were dealt with, Masamune crouched to leap, sheathing his two blades before simultaneously drawing three in one hand as he launched himself into the air.
"Death Fang!"
Lightning sparked in the wake of his 'claw' as he slashed down at the Darkside's arm.

There is no wince as the blades penetrate the darkness of its flesh. Whats left of it crosses itself with the other across its chest charging the darkness within the hole going through its abdomen. Moments later, its arms are pulled back and its firing orbs of pure darkness at its attacker.
Choose carefully if you want to parry them or strike; they have a homing ability.

Flipping back, Masamune caught sight of the orbs thrown at him, and he only narrowly managed to intercept the first with his blades, though it would still count as a hit. It was a shaky landing on his feet, but the samurai danced back, spinning with his next swing at the next.
Electricity crackled along the edge of his blades as he lashed out at the remaining in a broad sweep, lightning flying outward in an arrow-headed blast.

Something was already going on, deeper into the wood, and he hated being late to the party.
