Though, it seems to be guarding something... What could the darkness be hiding?

"Guys?" Liu calls behind him, trying to keep the nerves out of his voice. "I think you have to come in here."

This won't be easy, but it doesn't need saying.

He gasps as he catches a glimpse of the movement within, but it's still pretty dark that he can't quite make it out- only guesses that it'd be another horde of Heartless. Frowning, he brandishes both his blades. "Get ready, guys."
Reply
Be prepared to dodge, newcomers. For it is sending energy blasts of darkness at all three of you.
[ooc: dropping this for your own reference, friends!]

So much for a possible strategic retreat or quick getaway. Then he realizes it's already attacking. "Gah!" Liu throws his hands up to block as the energy wave crashes into him, searing straight through his undefended side.
"Ugh, it's definitely not like the others. Everyone spread out if it does that again!" Falling back a little, Liu casts a quick Defense Canopy over the group, following it up with it's magic counterpart. He has no idea what this Heartless will do next, but he really doesn't like the look of those chains.

Maybe he can be a distraction, coming in at the fore. He's confident in his speed.

That was close! -way too close. He lands in a crouched position, but not for long. "Where'd that thing go- Liu, Jale, you guys okay?!" He gives a nod at Liu before dashing in the opposite direction that Jale does. If he can get a good opening...

Except for the part where the Heartless decides to go out of sight. "There!" Taking a deep breath, Liu straightened and started casting a Fusion Dome after it. He couldn't use it a lot of times, but if it weakened it a little at the start, this fight might go a little easier.
Feeling the energy start to build up, he cast the spell straight at the candelabra, the miniature explosion of light flashing briefly in the darkness of the Cathedral.

Frowning, he jumps back to let someone else have a go.

Since Jale had taken the high road, he'll just shadow him below. Well- now's as good a time as any for this...
Making sure that his friend's out of the way, Sieg raises a hand to call upon one of his own Marks- a blazing insignia tracing in the air before an eruption of flame like a solid, burning pillar arose from the ground, blasting up towards the dangling objects above, and maybe the Heartless itself if he could manage.

"It came out!" Liu measures the distance. Too far for anything but magic. But if it's stunned, now is a good time to attack. Calling up another Mark, he summons sand, hardly hoping a chance of silencing it would do anything, but any damage was good, right?
Reply
Lesser enemies were often paralyzed by that Mark, but it might be wishful thinking to hope that this one would be as easily stunted.

Rising from his crouch on the ground, Sieg practically threw himself at the creature seconds after Jale had let loose with his attack. Shouting out, he swung with one blade, then the other, momentum backing his strikes as he delivers them full-force.
