"So this is where it all started..."

Maciel looked down at the spot marked from the opening ritual. That such a spell could ever be cast, and for no good purpose... He shook his head. Feeling a light tug at the end of his robes, he glanced at Naata who had come up beside him, forcing a smile at the dark dragonling.

"I'll be all right," he assured. He needed to be if he was going to be of any use here. Turning, he looked to the rest of the kids who stood behind him. They'd all wanted to come despite his reluctance, and even now Maciel still felt anxious about having them there. He wasn't sure how the ritual would work, after all. None of them had ever gone through anything like this, back home. "....all right everyone. Stay close, and do as I tell you. Kaata."

The little blond-haired dragonling nodded, putting on his best brave face. He went over to Maciel, glancing at Naata briefly, the latter offering a nod.

From brightness stolen from the sky...

Thinking on those words, Maciel looked at the mirror. "You can feel it, can't you, Kaata?" The little one nodded. ~It's what we were looking for last time.~

Lavi wasn't entirely sure how much use he would be here. There'd been so much talk of magic -- innate magic -- and that wasn't anything that the bookman boasted. But he had been paying attention -- to the communicators and all the buzz over them in the past few days. If nothing else, he wanted to be here to see how it went. But he hoped he'd be able to help if anything didn't go as planned.

And then there was the chance that the men who'd led them on this chase had lied and they weren't going to let them go about this without interfering, well, he could help with that.

His green gaze shifted towards Maciel and the little figures around him. He stepped over, curious. "Think it's going to work? It sounded pretty simple, but..." Yeah, magic. Aside from Innocence, it wasn't in his repertoire.

They all looked over at the redhead as he came over. Truthfully having the presence of others there with them was something that brought a shared relief to Maciel and the kids. Even Naata appreciated the fact that they wouldn't be the only ones here to attempt this, and especially if the burden would be lessened from his dragon sorcerer.

"It does sound simple, doesn't it...? I... Well I hope it works! We don't have any other options, and I don't like to think that so much trouble was gone through for something that wouldn't work...." Maciel smiled weakly, stooping down to pick up Kaata, standing again as he glanced over at the mirror. "Kaata's confirmed that the mirror is what was involved the first day that that strange flash reflected in the sky. This is the place it had been used."

He looked at Lavi. "So all we have to do is send everything back to where it came from."

Aqua was a strong magic user. She'd trained with it heavily over the years so helping to cast the spell seemed like the most good she could do. So Aqua ran into the city from the forest and back to the rooftop she had looked at days earlier. A quick double jump into the roof, Aqua spotted a couple people gathered there already so she quickly pulled her helmet off.

"Are we the only ones so far?" She asked, dropping her helmet near the edge of the roof. She didn't need it now anyway. Not unless someone tried to attack them all here on a roof. Which was not wise at all.

Lavi glanced over at the newcomer. They hadn't spoken in person, but her face was familiar enough from the communicators, time to time. "Seems so. But maybe more will come. I'm here for moral support; there's not a magical bone in my body." He glanced over to Maciel again and nodded. "Hopefully that's all. So... the kids going to help with this?" A gesture at the assembled dragonlings curiously.

Lavi's hammer was out, and he was leaning on it at the moment. It was supposed to look casual, but he was very much on edge. If things went wrong, there'd be no other recourse. It was their only idea.

"I hope they haven't run into more trouble... It seemed pretty bad out there," Maciel murmured, glancing towards the edge of the roof. He looked towards Aqua, having not really spoken to her before either, but he's glad that it seems like others are arriving.

He offered Lavi a nod. "Moral support," he smiled. "Kaata and I will be doing what we can, though. We'll be counting on you to keep an eye on everything else."

Naata stepped back towards the rest of the dragonlings, every now and then looking around. He already kept an eye out on things out of habit, but he supposed he wouldn't mind Lavi's assistance. Besides, he was the one with the big hammer.

Maciel turned back towards Aqua. "Have you seen what's inscribed on the back of the mirror, Miss?"

"I haven't had the chance to look at it yet. And you can call me Aqua." Aqua said with a shake of her head. And a moment later, she knelt down in front of the mirror, reading each side carefully.

"Back to repose, repose means 'rest' or 'lie when dead'." Aqua said thoughtfully.

Lavi nodded absently. Words he understood, it was the magic behind whatever would happen here that was out of his purview. "So that has to be what'll do it, right? That, ah... spell?" It made sense to the bookman, anyway.

He looked thoughtfully at the mirror from where he stood, not wanting to move any closer to crowd Aqua, Maciel or the children.

"I believe so. I mean, well it would make sense." Maciel looked off towards the edge of the roof, following Naata's silent gaze before nodding. "We aren't getting anything done just standing here. We have to try..."

He glanced down at Kaata who had both fists balled up, giving an nod in agreement. "All right. Let's do this. Hopefully if anyone else comes, they can help, but I think we'll need to tap into the light first. Kaata and I can do that. What kind of magic can you use, Aqua?"

"I'm a master with all elemental magic, and Light." Aqua replied, taking a breath and creating a single, small, orb of Light. Similar to the one of the Mark of Mastery Exam. A moment later, she snuffs it out of existence.

"Good, I haven't let my magic get rusty while here. Hopefully more people will come, it'll be easier that way." That, and Aqua had never cast a spell as a group before so she could be sure about how effective that might be.
