Out of the corner of his eye, Xanxus noticed the flash of green approaching. Not caring what it was he fired a 'warning shot', bright yellow and red flame obliterating everything in its path, though at a second glance he already assumed he had missed. Damn thing was fast.

At this point there were several burnt and mangled bodies on the forest floor around him, and the stench of burnt flesh in the air, though it didn't bother him in the slightest. Any monster that tried to attack him had met with this kind of fate, and they were never much of a challenge.

The shot rang out and her Innocence reacted with green lights blazing along the wheels of her ankles. Shifting her balance on the air, she turned and grasped a taller tree branch, swinging herself up to perch on it as she peered out to where the shot rang from.

Blinking curiously, she shook her head when she smelt the stench of burning flesh. Sad to say, she knew this smell just a bit but it never changed that it was a rather disheartening smell.

Pushing off of the branch with her foot, she hopped from tree branch to tree branch with barely any weight hitting as she almost danced across the treeline before she saw who was in charge of the shot and the bodies.

"Xanxus?"

Now that he could see 'it' move better, Lenalee's description of her weapon came to mind. This was affirmed when she finally danced closer and was no longer obscured by leaves and branches, so Xanxus put his guns away, cocked his head up to look at her and casually rested one hand on his hip.

"Lenalee."

He hadn't expected to run into the girl, but then, she did live close by now. At least she hadn't interrupted him.

Easily, she dropped out of the treeline and landed on the ground with a soft thump of her boots. She looked all around him at the bodies and curiously she tilted her head. "Were you releasing some steam?" She asked quietly as she stepped over a corpse and then another.

"The further you go in, the bigger the monsters get I heard. But who knows if that's just a tale they tell to keep us from exploring more out there."

Strange, that she would not be deterred by the sight or the smell of the remains, but not a bad thing at all. He nodded at her quiet question.

"Not necessarily bigger. Nastier though, and more dangerous." Not that that really seemed to deter him. "You're not just out for a walk, are you?"

With a small click of her heels, the Innocence around her legs changed shape and formed back in to her thigh high black boots that she normally wore around. She took another step over another body and shook her head to his question.

"I'm afraid not. I felt a bit restless and was hoping to get some of my training in. I'd hate to go back to my world and feel heavy and not very useful should a mission come up." She said with a small frown. She hated fighting...she hated the war. But she wanted and owed it to her brother to continue fighting to make the world beautiful.

Now that was a fascinating mechanism. He raised an eyebrow at her boots changing shape at her whim, but refrained from asking for now. His red eyes regarded her silently, noticing her apparent reluctance to fight and at the same time her odd tolerance for what came of it. Was she fighting for someone? For a cause she believed in? Exorcist was what she'd said... no matter.

"My offer for sparring still stands."

With a faint smile, Lenalee nodded at that and stopped a few feet from him with her arms coming to fold across her chest. "If you'd like to. I'm sure the monsters bring more of a bit of satisfaction than just sparring but- I don't mind either." She said.

"It's rather amazing to know there are so many different types of abilities and powers that are brought here and that people have. Much like your gun it seems." She said quietly with a tilt of her head as she motioned to it. "It's not normal, is it?"

"The ability isn't in the gun." He raised a hand to draw her attention to it, a bright yellow and orange glow forming around it. Much like fire, but calmer somehow, steadier, not really resembling an actual flame. The guns that he carried were, after all, merely amplifiers.

"And I agree... it does make things interesting. Hence why I'm curious what people from other worlds are capable of."

Staring at the gun, she squinted and tilted her head. Maybe it was like the General's gun where he was able to use his own Innocence manifested in bullets to destroy akuma. But- obviously this was a very different method of killing something with flames that seemed hauntingly different than anything she had seen before.

Lenalee stepped forward just a bit and looked up at him then back at the gun. "It's...beautiful." She said quietly.

Stealing another glance up at him, she had to agree. "Mm, I wonder if anyone's taking notes on everyone's ability. Just in case something happens then we'd know who to go to quickly for help."

Beautiful? The notion confused him, he had to admit, but he chose not to dwell on it.

"Maybe someone should," he answered instead, largely indifferent about the idea and apparently so. Letting the flame vanish he lowered his hand again. "I know there are people around who keep track of things." Or try to.

She thought a bit on that, tapping her cheek with a finger as she tried to just think of what special skills the people she knew about had. Yukimura and Date seemed to be special cases and rather strong. Herself, Kanda, Allen, and Lavi had their exorcist abilities. Miss Vietnam was...well a Nation if that comes with any powers. Conan seemed to be a prodigy. Just from those thoughts, it seemed that everyone here had their own tale to tell.

"I should ask Lavi if he has tabs on people with abilities. He seems to have a good record of most around here because of his Bookman status back home." She said as she stole a glance back towards the library in the city. "It wouldn't hurt to ask him at least." She said as she glanced back up at him.

A bookman? The term didn't mean a thing to him, but at the moment he wasn't in the mood to ask. Neither did he feel inclined to keep track of the people in this city, though it should not be too difficult, with little more than a hundred of them. All he answered was a noncommital "It usually doesn't," looking down at her.

"So, should we start?" He inclined his head slightly to face her properly, stance shifting a little. The gun he put away, not intending to kill her.
