With his hands habitually folded behind his back, Kanbei walked along one of Ruby City's streets. It was not so long ago that he had looked down upon the city, from the observation deck. Enough time had passed to grow familiar with the layout and general atmosphere, and be certain that this was indeed a permanent stay. Now was the moment to converge with minds he knew that he could trust -- Hanbei, of course, and, more grudgingly, Motonari -- and properly settle in.
There was much to tell, beyond the issues that their relocation had brought. A lot had occured in the space between their deaths, both of which had been in close succession, and his own. Hanbei deserved to know what had become of Hideyoshi. Beyond that, it would provide closure for everyone. The Tokugawa Shogunate had been formed, and peace established with it.
He frowned. Hopefully this would not decend into emotional territory.
His thoguhts drifted to the poketwatch hidden within the layers of his clothing. They would have to be called; the chances of simply coming upon one of them at random was fairly small.
