And if he bragged about it there would be a swift smack upside the head by a somewhat amused best friend, who just happened to be waiting for this new friend of the wise guy next to him. He had plenty of more experience exploring this place, but he didn't mind letting Sora possibly getting them lost and having to show them the way back. That was half the fun of adventuring, after all.

Especially when one could do so blindfolded. Heck, he probably did at some point or another. Yet he's being patient, musing to himself until... "Sure he didn't get lost?"

Already teasing someone? Check.

Flynn, however, did not get lost. He simply had taken his time, and the sword he'd procured had to be sharpened. It hung sheathed at his hip upon an old leather belt, and he had a satchel of first aid supplies and food over his shoulder. (He'd have to thank Dr. McCoy later for the, uh, unauthorized access to his medical supplies.) No sense in taking chances, after all.

He followed the tracks to the edge of the park where they had all agreed to meet, and grinned at the two kids with a wave of his hand.

"Hey, Sora. This your friend?" he asked jovially.

"How could he have gotten lost?" Aside from following the tracks in the wrong direction, but Sora didn't think Flynn would do that. He looked skeptically at Riku, his mouth pushed down and to the side. Then he heard Flynn's voice and the look instantly shifted into a bright smile.

"Hey, Flynn!" He raised his arm in a wave as well. "Yeah! This is Riku, my best friend from home. Riku, this is Flynn Rider." But the older boy probably got that already.

"What's in the bag?" Oddly enough healing was at least one thing the boys wouldn't have to worry about. Just don't freak out okay?

"By going the wrong way." It'd happened before, so he couldn't help but bring it up as a possibility before he sensed someone not too far off. Riku turned to face him slightly when he finally got there, giving a faint nod of welcome. Wasn't like he knew Flynn beforehand, so he had no real basis on what to expect other than Sora's word.

"Nice to meet you." The older teen managed a faint smirk, but otherwise keeping to himself. He too was silently curious about what was being held in the bag. Ah, the wonders of hammer space and magic...

"You must be Sora's friend," Flynn said with a grin, and extended a hand to the young man. Judging between the three of them, the thief could see that he was the oldest, but he knew better than to judge skill by age. Shouldering his satchel a bit better, Flynn patted the sword at his hip and nodded towards the woods.

"Well? Did you guys come armed?"

It may not have looked like Sora had, unless he was hiding something in his pockets which considering how many he had was quite plausible, but he had something hidden up his hammer space sleeve.

"Yup!" Sora holds out his hand and in a small burst of light and a second later, his keyblade appears.

Riku nodded, shaking Flynn's hand before letting go. Sora almost always was the baby of the group, but at least that didn't amount to much on the battlefield. Someone still had a couple scars from that Keyblade Sora just summoned. The older of the two had a normal amount of pockets, but even then he was most certainly armed to the teeth - ahaha - and might have been ready to show it when he saw that flash of light next to him.

"Show-off." he muttered, laughing quietly to himself for a moment before summoning his own in a flash of the strange energy he always held inside him - not quite light, and not quite dark - and resting the strange wing-like blade on his shoulder. "Well? Are we ready?"

....

Keys?

These two kids.

Were holding giant ornate keys in their hands.

Flynn stared for a moment, wondering if the two of them were actually serious. First magic golden hair, then frying pans, and now keys? How many household accessories would he see used as outlandish weapons in his life? Were they going to bludgeon the monsters to death? Sure, that was pretty effective, but compared to the sharpened blade of a sword...?

"...Well. That's different," he commented blandly.

Sora grins as he places the Keyblade over his shoulder. He's not surprised that Flynn's less than impressed. Not everyone's seen a Keyblade before nor what it could do. It may not be physically sharp but it definitely packed a punch and could leave a mark.

"Don't worry, we know what we're doing." He turned towards the park and took a few steps into the forest. "Come on!"

Riku was less unsurprised and more secretly amused at the reaction. No matter what happened, it was almost always a similar unimpressed look unless they knew about it.

Then they'd be suspicious.

So congratulations, Flynn. You passed. Because they are dead serious and knew how to use them to 'put the pointy end in the bad guys' rather well. ...and speak for your own, Sora. His could stab someone's eye out if angled properly.

"Somewhat, anyway." Was that a joke? Who knew, but he definitely began to follow his friend. Come on, Mr. Thief.

Flynn was still a skeptic, but he wasn't going to argue right now. Even if they just beat monsters to death with them, they'd still suffice. Shrugging, Flynn followed after the two, unsheathing his own blade and looking around as they passed into the forest.

It didn't seem to different from any other forest, except maybe a bit eerie and foggy. It wasn't a sunny or placid seeming place like that ones he'd been used to either...

BTW guys you both have NPC rights to the critters so if there's something your picturing go ahead~ runbysmiles January 14 2012, 02:05:42 UTC
The going didn't seem too bad. The atmosphere of the place kind of reminded Sora of the forest in Halloween Town. He almost wondered if they wouldn't find a hidden door to some other world in this place. Though something told him they weren't likely to come across any trees with Christmas Trees carved into their hollow trunks.

He looked around as they went, trying to keep an ear out for any monsters lurking in the forest.

"When do you think we'll run into something?" Figures Sora would be the first one to break the silence.
