He may not be submissive for long bewaeltigung October 10 2011, 00:58:56 UTC

He growled again, looking only at Lovino this time.

"I may not be Italia's chosen lover but I am steel hees ally. I vill not stand by and allow you to hurt heem een my sight. Eef you are any kind of partner you vill stop now."

Feliciano whines at the head bump and rubs his hurting head, turning large, wounded brown eyes on his brother. He opens his mouth to complain, but Ludwig's growl cuts him off.

His eyes go very wide again. Ludwig is upset. Upset like he is upset when Feli takes a siesta in the middle of training or brings pasta instead of weapons to a battle, only different. And... He shifts his weight from one leg to the other. Ludwig is upset on his behalf, not because of something he did. He is protecting him. Protective like he always is, protective like Holy Roman... He cuts that thought quickly off. No, Ludwig said it himself. He is protecting him because they are allies, nothing else. That way lie forbidden thoughts that will only make him unhappy. He feels warm and happy anyway.

Warm and happy, but at the same time unhappy and how can you be happy and unhappy at the same time anyway? But he is, because his two most important people are arguing and why can't everyone just get along? It's not fair!

"Ve~ don't fight," he pleads again, though weakly. Not even he has any hope that they're going to listen.

He was going to ignore Germany, but now he can't. And he knows Feli's hurt, sure, but he can fix it after he kicks potato head's ass.

"Fuck you, you can't tell me what to do, bastard! We were fine until you fucking showed up, so fuck off before I kick your ass, damnit!" yeah, yelling louder fixes everything.

Hmph, Lovino never let up a chance to ignore something he didn't like. Like hell he was going to ignore him and take the high road.

"I say zat as Italia's friend." something deep in him was betrayed by the word 'friend'. It hurt to say but he ignored that, smothering that twinge with his anger.

"Eef you are any kind of man you'll stop right now and apologize to heem. Eet shouldn't matter who ees on ze street next to you. Zat ees your brother."

This pleading thing really isn't working, just like he knew it would fall on deaf ears. All the warmth and happiness he had felt at being protected is quickly being replaced by a feeling of desperation, complete with tears prickling in his eyes.

He wants everyone to get along, he doesn't want to be the reason they fight and are unhappy. Least of all now when he is feeling so vulnerable anyway, when he just wants to forget the horrible memories from the maze and spend time with the people he loves. The unfairness of the situation makes Feliciano choke up with tears.

"Stop it, both of you!" he yells. Feliciano wipes at his eyes. "You're yelling and being mean to another and it hurts!"

Lovi had already opened his mouth to argue, but Feli's outburst stops him. He turns back to see Feli crying... probably his fault, too. Whoops. He pauses, and the anger fades quickly, replaced by fear for Feli.

Slowly and hesitantly he kisses Feli's cheek and frowns, "...Fuck... 'M sorry..." does that make it better? He kissed the idiot in public, damnit, it better work.

Ludwig was the same. He was about to lecture Lovino but he stopped cold when Feliciano spoke up.

"I..." he didn't know what to say. Feliciano both looked and sounded so helpless and afraid. There was a lump of guilt in his gut as he processed what he had said and how irresponsible that wasy. "I am sorry, Italia." he stepped back.

"I vill leave you two to your shopping." and he began to walk away.

Lovino's unexpected apology and even more unexpected kiss manage to stop the onslaught of tears, but then, just as he believes everything might turn out well, after all, Ludwig is leaving.

The hand that isn't still clutching Lovino's, though he has forgotten all about that, reaches out in a futile gesture to hold him back, though he's already too far away to grasp. "But Ludwig..." he whispers unhappily.

And Lovi holds Feli back protectively, almost rejoicing secretly in the fact that he won the fight. Feli's staying next to him, not running after potato head! Take that, bastard!

On the other hand, Feli's still upset. And that's Germany's fault. Not that telling Feli that would do anything good. Nnnope, now it's time to distract him. By very subtly clinging to his arm.

And if Germany looks back, he gets to see Lovi sticking his tongue out at him.

"Hm?" he did look back but he didn't seem to even see Lovino. His eyes were only on Northern Italy.

"Have fun viss him. Ja?"

Feli coos sadly, feeling his heart break a bit. For some reason, it feels like a goodbye, but that's silly, isn't it?

He nods, though he isn't really in the mood to have fun anymore, he would rather curl up and mope. "Ve~ I love Ludwig a lot!" He tries to wriggle out of Lovino's grip, intending to dart forward and give Ludwig a goodbye hug.

Winning, winning-- What the fuck. Lovino clamps onto Feli possessively, fighting his attempts to get free with all his might. Jealousy? PFT OF COURSE NOT. "Calm your ass down, damnit, let him leave!" why doesn't Feli realize how joyous an occasion this is?

He would ignore the brothers for now. He knew any continuance would end up with the three of them together all day and he wasn't up for that.

But somethine kept telling him to turn around and return to Feliciano.

It's not a joyous occasion at all for Feli, but when he realizes that Ludwig isn't going to turn around, his attempts to free himself falter. Dejected, he slumps his shoulders and just stares sadly at Ludwig's back with wounded eyes.

"But I don't want to let him leave!" he exclaims mournfully. He turns pleading eyes on Lovino, hoping against hope that he will do something to get Ludwig back. If they could just get along, at least a little bit!

Damnit, why does Feli even care so much? It's just a fatass ugly stupid German bastard! Who fucked their country up and made everyone hate them!

With a scoff, Lovi lets go of Feli and turns in the direction of home, "Either go chase the bastard or come with me. Whatever you wanna do." he looks back with the hint of anger coming back into his face, "But if you choose him, you're not allowed in my bed. Ever." does he mean it? He's not totally sure. This whole thing is just making him feel really... bitter.

He heard that bit... and he slowly came to a halt. He didn't know what to do about that. He didn't want to break up Italy's relationship, though a deeper part of him truly did.

He stopped and stood still, listening to the exchange. Part of him burned to turn around and go collect Italia but he dared not. Feliciano was not his to control. He remained still as a compromise between his morals and his inner yearning. Lovino might refuse Feli but Ludwig would be there through thick and thin.
