Am listening to an episode of the Thomas Jefferson Hour and they're talking about Maria Cosway, a woman who Jefferson fell in love with in Paris.  She sounds enchanting and scintillating and it makes me think of the list of adjectives that I someday hope will be applied to me.  The hosts of the show are discussion how engaging she was and how she was the type of woman who could draw everyone to her in a room.

And I wonder if I could ever be that type of woman.  Is it a combination of brains and beauty?  Maria Cosway was an artist.  Here's her self portrait:




How badass is she?  And she painted that shit herself.  This is how she saw herself.  I could never see myself like that.  (I'm talking about her air, not just her hair.)

I need to read up on these women.
