Much of my time at work is spent transferring marks. This means that an engineer marks up a set of drawings and I copy the marks onto other sets of drawings and then send them away.
Often while I'm in the marks-transferring zone, a phrase from The Royal Tenenbaums goes through my head:
"All right, Dudley. Make yours look like mine."
Make yours look like mine.
Make yours look like mine.
I take a perverse pleasure in making mine look a little different. Not so different that a building will fall or a piece of rebar will be missed, but, you know, bigger writing, neater writing, different sized circles and clouds.
Wow. I really need to reevaluate. Sigh.
