So Tom calls me this morning and we have a brief conversation before he tells me to open my front door. I open it to find him standing there with a rose. It brightened my day so much! Mostly just to see him, because it was so unexpected and I never catch him in the mornings. How did I get so lucky?

I had a sleepover with Karen last night which was fun. We did stereotypical things such as baking cookies, eating too many of them, and then talking about guys into the wee hours of the morning, but it was very nice. Sometimes I miss having just one on ones with people or discussions in small groups. I made chili and had Kim and James over for lunch yesterday which was also nice. I rarely get a chance to actually talk to them and find out what is going on in their lives, so that was very refreshing.

I spent last weekend in Grand Forks with Jamie! FUN! OH, I had such a good time. I went to a writer's conference on Friday night and got to hear an author talk about his personal writing process and the life experiences that have influenced him. It was relaly motivating and made me want to at least look into grad schoool... yikes. Grad school? For English? What the heck would I end up doing with my life? I"ll just keep my eye on the Morris grad date for now. At any rate, it was a very good experience. I spent the evening getting to know JAmie's roomates and some of their friends. We played a rousing game of Apples to Apples and had a few beverages before calling it a night. The next day we went out for lunch at Perkins where we got horrible service from our waitress. We were syaing mean things about her and I have a feeling she overheard us which probably led to the contunuation of our bad service....ooops. I feel like a terribl person. She was probably just having an off day. We rented a couple movies, but fell asleep all afternoon and ended up not watching them. JAmie had to play in the band for the UND hockey game so she was gone most of Saturday night, but I was kept in good company by My. Ginny, the apartment guinea pig and my lovely book of Rumi love poems that Jamie bought for me. It was so good tos ee her and spend time with her and just BE with her. There are certain people who come into our lives that get cemented into us and become an inextricable part of our being. Jamie is one of my cement blocks. It's my new term of endearment for her. I htink i'll just refer to her as 'cementie' from now on. AWWW....

We had a little incident on our drive to FArgo. We decided we would ignore the 'service engine' light that was lit up as we pulled out of her apartment parking lot. This was obviously a mistake, and we realized that after we found ourselves stranded on the interstate about 15 miles out of Fargo. We called Anthony and he came to our rescue and then the three of us ate lunch in FArgo while trying to figure out what to do with the car. Everything ended up getting worked out and Anthony and I sitll managed to make it to his concert on time. The concert was wonderful! There was one song that was especially moving and once I heard the old couple behindm e start smiffling, I couldn't keep my eyes from welling up. It was such a gorgeous piece. Sigh.

The rest of my weekend was really good. Confusing, but good.

I enjoyed a lovely dining experience withe holiest cult on Tuesday night. Cafe Bella has delicious appetizers. I recommend go there for a night out on the town, and out of Mo-town. PLus, being in good company made it even better.

Had awful headache on Wednesday which required me to lie down for four hours. This was possibly the worst headache I have experienced in my life. As a result, I missed Shakespeare and choir. I have Shakespeare in 15 minutes and i ma afraid to go after missing the last class. I feel out of the loop- it's funny how being out for a mere half a day will do that to a person.

oooo- surpirse visit from the boyfriend... must go! BYe!
