So this is a magic journal, huh? I'd probably think that was totally weird, except it isn't the strangest thing I've heard today. What if someone wanted to write something private? Are there non-magic journals here, too? Anyway...

I think only the journals made with paper from the tree are what everyone can read, but I am not certain if there are others. It is strange, but you get used to it quickly!

What kind of hobbies do you have? And aside from riding chocobos, what do people do for fun in the sphere?

It might be something to look into :) I know there are other people who draw here, like Qi, but I am not certain if there are any jobs related to that.

Training, mostly! I like to spar whenever I get the chance, and there are lots of fun people to spar with here. But there are lots of fun things to do in the Sphere. Right now there is a game called Blitzball in the wilderness, which is a lot of fun to play. And there are gryphons too if you like riding things, and there is the Yard, and there are bunches of islands around.

Maybe I'll draw more, later. It could have been beginner's luck, but we'll see. Who's Qi?

Sparring? [There's a pause while she considers that.] Would you mind if I joined you sometime? And did you say there are gryphons? Like... lion body, bird head and wings?

Qi is one of my friends. She can sometimes be hard to understand but she is very nice! She speaks in metaphor a lot, Dad says.

That sounds like fun! And I think so for the gryphons. The man who explained them made it sound very complicated, but I know there is a place around here where you can try riding them.

I should probably get a little more settled first, but then we can spar and ride gryphons together!

Good luck finding a job! There are lots of different things that you can do, so you should be able to find something that suits you well!
