FF.net Links
Ok, as I've said may times before, I like to keep fic recs in my Memories, but of course there are some things that can't be saved. Previously, I made posts with links to individual threads in huge fic memes (the Kink Meme and 1 Sentance P0rn), so I could just save those posts. But I decided there was something missing.
Despite the stereotypes there are still some good fics to be found on ff.net. And, especially since ff.net has been having problems lately and randomly not displaying stories, I though I'd share the love. So, I went back and tried to find any fics I liked.
Keep in mind that 1) a lot of authors have LJ's and ff.net accounts and post fic in both places. I (obviously) skipped any ff.net fics that I already had saved in my Memories. Just because a fic on the site isn't listed here doesn't even necessarily mean I didn't like it. And even I don't, that doesn't mean it's still not good, because:
2) I am not the self-appointed decider of what is and is not a good Kuro fic, I'm just me. Obviously, I have my own tastes, preferences, and hang-ups. For example, I just recently read a bit of the first chapter of "Memento Vivere, Memento". It seems well written, could be interesting, certainly not what I'd call a bad fic. But, I'm a hardcore Seb/Ciel shipper and I specifically look for Seb/Ciel fics. That particular story doesn't seem to be going there. So I'm taking a pass on it. That doesn't make it a bad fic. Likewise, it takes a lot for me to not utterly hate deathfics. Obviously, Kuroshitsuji has a lot of those. Some are not up to my personal standards. That still doesn't make them bad. Finally:
3) I used the character filters to find Seb/Ciel fics, so anything that didn't list the characters as "Sebastian M. & Ciel P" (or vise versa) didn't even show up in the fics I went through. And, as I said, ff.net seems to be having a problem with displaying fics lately. "A Well Timed Interruption" keeps disappearing from the archive, despite the story still being there, and I discovered "Latin Lessons" when I viewed the author's profile and saw it there. As far as I can tell, that fic has never appeared in the archive view. So there's a good chance there are fics I'm not even seeing.
tl;dr: A fic not being included on this list should not be taken as an indication that I think the fic is crap.
