The Pittsburgh Comicon experience was not entirely nightmare-ish. In fact, no part of it was nightmare-ish. There were parts that were rather boring, but other than that it was okay. The guys seemed to get along with me a little easier. Maybe I was a little more outgoing, too. The guys in my van were laughing at my jokes and I even got a few compliments on my alumni presentation. The alumni bit was not bad at all. The room was a lot narrower than we'd expected, and the "heavy hors d'oeuvres" were no substitute for a proper dinner. I did manage to talk to about half the alumnus present and I scored some great advice from two of them. A friend who'd graduated just last year was there so it was great to see a familiar face. Also, one of the alumni approached me just to give me an awesome and very high compliment.
I was kinda angry, though, that when the time came to leave no one told me. I was in the middle of a really good conversation with the wife of this one alumni when I happened to look out the window and see the rest of my group tooling across the parking. I was literally in the middle of a sentence when I saw this and had to exclaim, "Oh my god, they're leaving without me!" She turned to see them in and around the vans, frowned and said, "Well that was nice of them to say something to you." I had to make hurried goodbyes and almost ran out without my coat and purse. How rude! My feet were killing me so I plotted toward them, glowering, and Dr. Hsiung jokes, "First one in, last one out, huh, Emily?" I said, "Oh, you know it." Dr. Hosler laughed.
