My works in progress
A very random post, but it helps to write this down. I've been thinking about the WIPs I have on the go at the moment, and have come to the realisation that I have a problem. A serious psychological problem. I have a LOT of stories that I've started, and I want to finish ALL of them, but obviously trying to do that would be a baaaad idea, especially in my final year at university. So, I need to figure out where to go from here.
I'm gonna start by listing all my WIPs, fandom by fandom.
STARGATE ATLANTIS:
Guardian - (AU, in which Teyla died in Search and Rescue, and John is left as Torren's guardian).
Sleep Study - (John and Teyla both have trouble sleeping, and lean on each other for support).
I have almost forgot the taste of fears - (John loses four years of his memory, and revert to season one John).
Lake Atlantis - (AU, in which the characters are at summer camp together).
Look Who's Talking - (A JT story told from Torren's POV).
Can't Take My Eyes Off You - (Kind of like the SG1 ep 'Beneath the Surface': John and Teyla have their memories wiped and are set to work).
MERLIN:
Fool The World - (Merlin meets Mulan: Gwen joins the army to protect her father, and has to hide her secret from her trainer, Arthur)
Time For A Change - (A Merlin and Arthur from the future travel back in time hunting a magical beast, and the present pair help them)
Not For Me- (A two parter in which Gwen and Arthur get closer, but too close for Gwen's comfort) (No link because it's buried in the depths of the A/G comm...)
THE BIG BANG THEORY:
The White Lie - (Sheldon's Meemaw comes to visit, and Penny pretends to be Sheldon's girlfriend).
From Sea to Shining Sea - (AU, in which Penny and Missy are Miss America contestants, and Sheldon comes to visit).
My Density has Brought Me to You - (Slightly cracky fic in which Sheldon wakes up to find instructions for a time machine in his room)
PB Field - (The story of Sheldon and Penny, told in reverse of 50 snippets of their lives)
Hello Kitty - (Leonard responds to the break-up with Penny by getting a cat- here's the story from the cat's POV)
SheldonTheory.Com - (Penny stumbles across a fan website dedicated to Sheldon, and becomes a little too interested in it all)
Ooh it's a tie between BBT and SGA for the most WIPs... I thought that BBT was going to steal the crown, but not quite! ;) Anyway - clearly, attempting to work on 16 stories at once is a baaad idea, and so I'm going to wittle them down, starting by removing the ones that I'm happy leaving on the backburner:
Sleep Study- now, this is actually quite popular and one that people message me about quite frequently, but the thing is I don't have any ideas for it at the moment. It's a missing moment fic, and the main 'plot' of it has been told aleady - the rest would be telling the rest of the series of SGA in this medium, and while I do definitely plan to do it one day, I'm not feeling it at the moment.
Actually, looking at my SGA fics, there are only two that I absolutely definitely want to get working on again. One is Guardian - it's a story that means a lot to me, and that I have tons of plans for. It's going to be a long story, though, so I really have to get back to it. The other is Can't Take My Eyes Off You - I started this story almost THREE YEARS ago, and haven't updated it since; it's the worst writer's block I've ever had. It's particularly frustrating because I have the story all planned out. However, I will have to go back and edit the first two parts, and make it canon again - which I definitely want it to be!
As for Merlin, Fool the World is my major project at the moment; but I'm just having trouble with the latest chapter. Again, it's all planned out, and just needs to be written. Not For Me can definitely wait - it's not canon anymore, anyway. And Time For A Change, though I love it, can also stand to wait a while.
Speaking of Merlin, I actually have another story that I've been wanting to write for almost a year now - I didn't get the time last Summer, and then wanted to wait until series 2 was finished so I could keep it canon. Now I really need to get it written before series 3 starts... so the plan is to start that as soon as Fool the World is finished.
On to BBT... the two stories that I actually have the most ideas for at the moment are Hello Kitty and SheldonTheory.Com - I've been trying to write both of them, but again it's a case of writer's block holding me back. Those are the ones I've decided to concentrate on, though.
Okay, so that narrows down my stories to five, which is much more manageable. My plan is to spend a little time each day on one of them, hopefully ploughing my way through my writer's block when it comes to these stories... it really is very annoying!
So, hopefully, people will be seeing some updates from me soon...
