bizarre coincidences

Hi, long time no see. This is short and random, no apologies.

I graduated in a class of 57 students 9.75 years ago. That included me. So that means there were 56 others. I was in the nearby 'city' yesterday (60 miles away is nearby in Montana, okay?), and I ran into not only one classmate, but two. That's 3.5% of my graduating class, mind.

The first girl talked to me a while and it was funny since I swear we talked a total of three times in the last three years of high school, so this could've been as many words as we'd previously exchanged in the entire time we were in school together or more (we were in school together for ten years). The other girl was behind the counter at the Osco pharmacy, and since she didn't look my way, I didn't look her way either. Fine with me, because I was sort of freaking out in my head at this point.

Fine, in a town of 2700 people, you run into people you know. EVERYWHERE. CONSTANTLY. But in the nearby town of 60,000 people (oh, it might only be 40,000 now. I don't know and I don't care), not only people I knew, but people who were in my graduating class? What is that?

Seriously. All my mother said was "it's Montana." Yes, but the state does have like, a million people now! And it's huge! I do not accept this as a valid explanation.

Merry Christmas, anyone actually reading this!

real life, real life: christmas, real life: montana, real life: weirdness, real life: high school, pointless musing, real life: randomness
