sittin in The Bean cafe, drinkin their rubbish tea, with gold nipples and a dirty face, post a completely bonkers crimp-tastic minotaur/labyrinth shoot with Ryan Styles and the wonderful Hyperion. not quite sure what we were aiming at conceptually speaking, beyond the fact we had to do a shoot since discovering that we both owned the same pair of amazing cloven-toed hoof shoes, but even we were rather alarmed by how much we ended up looking like a 90's industrial Goth band after we'd finished backcombing! ouch.
had a pretty rocking and terribly cultured week last week, hung out with my old friend KT on the Kings Rd on monday, having lunch sitting outside a cafe in the breezy spring sunshine and then checking out the hilarious 'world-leaders as old men' installation at the new Saatchi gallery...basically uncannily realistic life-size models of Gadaffi, Castro etc as OAP's, all doodling about in electric wheelchairs and bumping into each other! on tuesday went a saw a marvelous cabaret band called The Cesareans at the Cross Kings and on wednesday had Hooligan Night's first gig of 2009 at Madame JoJo's that went down really well and ended up in a puddle of tequila with the Evil Wife (again) and Misses Bang Bang and Velvet. on thursday went to the incredible Toy Toy's record launch at Pure Groove before heading to the adorable John Lee Bird's private view with Gus, before meeting up with Joe and Pip and going for a nasty curry on Brick Lane. on friday cooked dinner for Miss Bitz and then went to see the Bourgeois & Maurice show at the Soho theatre which descended into inevitable tequila-drenched (again!) trouble making at Balans into the wee hours. on saturday was mostly too hungover to move but managed to get it together to cook Aya, Danger Mouse and Kate dinner, over which we plotted the coming Summer's holiday mission...at the moment a wild week in Ibiza followed by chill out time in Formentera is looking very likely! on sunday caught up with Kate Lane and my three year old Godaughter Lola who informed me, in all seriousness, about her plans to get a tattoo on the base of her back (same place as mine). "what's it going to be Lola?" I asked her. "...Um...a...a DOG!" she replied. love that kid.
