21,000 women were diagnosed with ovarian cancer this year in the US. 16,000 of them did not survive.
24% chance of living = i am so lucky that there are no words.
there are approximately 300,000,000 people in the us alone. assuming half of them are women, that means i had a 0.13% chance of getting this cancer in the first place. maybe that seems to some people like terribly BAD luck that i got it anyway, but to me it seems like the fact that i survived against those numbers is terribly lucky. i am grateful.
